PostSubject: Which GPS?   July 11th 2013, 4:09 pm

I am looking for a protable GPS that I can use on my boat and in my Rhino. Can anyone share what they use if used for both? I want it to show nautical maping as well as terrain and have a backlight that works well. I would primarily use it on the boat at night.

If you want nautical too, I'd suggest the Lowrance Elite 5.  You can load virtually any mapping data, but I wouldn't classify it as portable. It has a bigger screen so easy to view while driving.  Would be great in your UTV or boat.

As for a smaller unit I'd check out the Garmin Montana 650T, which MAY take nautical map data but I'm not sure.  Its a great unit for a UTV.  This is what I have in my Commander.

*The 650T will take nautical map data.
