I know opinions are varied, but I'd like a 3-4" blade, folding ,deer knife for skinning and butchering(not package prep).  Any experience?

I use a Case XX 2 blade folding knife for years, also have couple Old Timers with 2 blades thzt will sharpen faster than the Case but will not hold it's edge like the Case knifes. Also have partner here at camp that has the new rzr blade knife that is awesome. It will hold edge for quite a while and when they get dull just put 8n another blade, it comes with 6 spares and can buy replacement blades in pks of6 and 12 I think.
I'm like you tho I'm always partial to folding blade knikes.

Thanks for the info.  I am considering the Havalon replaceable blade knives.  Have read good stuff on the Gerber too.  I'm staying away from stainless blades thinking that they're impossible to sharpen.

Fin, if you get the camo version be careful of setting it down after gutting your animal, they're very hard to find after setting them in the leaves, still have one I left in CO. after gutting my Elk.....
