| When you sale a machine and the buyer wants to pay with a certified check, how do you verify it's good? What does everyone here do when they sell a machine? |

| I can tell what cash is fake and what isn't. It just takes a while to count and verify. I've never accepted a certified check. Was thinking about taking one this time to make it easy |

| I've taken several of them. You can call the bank, they'll verify the amount. | |

| Look up the telephone number of the bank that issued the verified check! DO NOT CALL the number imprinted on the check. Call the bank and verify the check. | |

| Our world is so unpredictable today with shysters around every corner ready to take advantage of you. My sale would have to be in person, cash, or in the bank with a bank official verifying the money is secure in my account. I am a retired law enforcement officer (State Constable) and I would have a LE Brother with me if it is the cash in person delivery. That's my story and I'm sticking to it...MD | |

| Call the person's bank and talk to bank official and tell them what your doing and that you are verifying the check and demand both copy's of the offical check and then they cannot stop payment or anything else without that copy , I take official checks all the time !!!!! Be sure to get that customers copy !!!!! | |

| The last ATV I sold was a cash only deal . I counted it twice and looked at every bill that was new. If you offend someone then so be it. Its better than them driving off with the item and the title and you figure out later that you got screwed. | |

| I can say as a buyer that Paypal was on my side and would do pay pal to purchase no problem, but to sell no way they locked it all down and took almost 2 months to settle( good as the part I purchased was defective and was $1000) . I have heard that Funds can be transfered away from a account after a check has been verified so when you go to cash funds are not there. I meet as a bank as they have notaries to make it all legal. And like everyone else a big ole stack of cash at the bank where I feel safe, or barter is king too me. | |
