why is it when we log in it shows more guest than members.  today was 3 members 0 hidden and 17 guest.  just a little confused

cause anybody can view it now even if their not logged in..

I was MIA for a few years while I was concentrating on helping aging parents and when I came back I noticed a defiant change in activity on here.

It has really fell off as of lately. One reason is, not as many people post that they are riding anymore and that cuts down on activity on the site. It makes it seem like no one is riding anymore. Another reason is Facebook and other forums are being used more also.

When new people just check in to see what is going on it seems dead. We use to have new members joining every day...now...not so much. My opinion is I can see the site getting worse if something don't change. I hope it rebounds because I really like the people on here and have made some great friends because of this site.

To everyone...please post rides!  Even if it is day rides. Invite people to ride...old and new. Take pics and videos...or at least a ride report. That is what it will take to boost the site back up. DATZ DA TRUFF!

EVERYTHING ON RIDES UP IN THIS AREA SEEMS LIKE A BIG SECRET ANYMORE. THEY ALL SEEM TO LIKE THE RIDES THAT START AT NOON AND GO ABOUT 15 MILES IN 6 TO 8 HRS. BUT THATS WHAT MAKES THE WORLD TURN I GUESS. MYSELF I LIKE TO RIDE AT LEAST 50 MILES.

Me myself I like the longer rides (100 miles a day) and if I am traveling 8 hours one way I want to spend the week or so. But yeah, most seem to be doing to 4-6 hour rides anymore.

I wish I had the time to ride.

It is a shame that the sites have dropped off like they have. I don't think anyone realizes the countless hours BobbyD spent keeping this forum growing and active. I do because I did the same thing for 3 years as Admin at the SouthernSxSRider site. I had to build and rebuild that site several times from forum splits and internal drama that took it's toll. Many hours everyday are spent trolling other forums to invite potential new members, searching all SidexSide info sites for new content to bring back for new threads. I used to spend 3-4 hours everyday doing that. I know Bobby did too. That is what it takes to make a site a one stop shop for all things SidexSide. Then that is the only place your members need to go to get their information.

Then there is the ride planning. trying to put on a ride to keep all your members happy and enjoy themselves when they spend $500 to come out for a weekend event is tough. You have some that want difficult trails and some that want easy.Some that like the evening fellowship and some that could care less. Some it's all about the riding and some it's all about the social activity. You try to strike a balance that pleases all. If you start catering to one aspect you will lose members because of it.

Bottom line is you really need some active Moderators that will help do some of the work and make sure you keep the forum active with content, and the rides structured to allow the majority of your members to feel welcome and comfortable. You don't want to send a message that if you don't do difficult trails that you have no balls. That will kill half your membership right there for obvious reasons. Your never going to please everyone. Take care of the majority.

Bottom line is if you don't keep things active they will die, or at least dwindle down to a small group of people. Then you have a perceived clique when people view the site. People need to feel welcome when the log in, and also need to see people talking about riding and maintaining their rides. First impressions mean everything. I could go on for awhile, but you get my drift.

..it got down some because bobby got tired of it and on his last ride he pissed off some people for not keeping up and they left the ride mad and some left when i took over cause they dont like me and my facts...lol..when i have a ride we will not leave anyone..we will wait for everybody...waiting a extra 10 mins for someone just gives us more social time..our rides will be about getting together and socializing in the trail not making 100% sure we get 60 miles in everyday...this year we got 40-50 fun filled miles!!!!! playing at the mud holes is fun in my opinion but we will never be able to please everyone...if you like to have fun on the trail playing in the mud and riding like we do...laid back...these rides are for you!!!

Im not going to get into this because I don't know too much on why. I have noticed that the numbers have been down a little bit. 
I care about this site a lot and this is my home. I am proud of it and my friends that are here. I am not going anywhere. I have made some of the best friends here and have had some of the best times here. There are still a lot of good times and great memories ahead for me and my friends and this site. 

People are always looking for a good website club for our riding area. This site will always be a premiere site for riding our area and meeting AWESOME PEOPLE. Bobby did a good job and James will do a great job as well. There are a lot of good times for the future here at this site and I will be here to have fun and experience them. Everyone is welcome here and love seeing everyone here.
