| Just wondering how many wear helmets on a sxs and why or why not? We had an accident down by the play ground last weekend where my wife ended up with 20 stitches and was trying to see what people do. I personally don't wear a helmet often and honestly... I can't come up with one good reason as to why I don't.. This ain't meant to be a lecture post or anything like that... Just a curiosity thing... | |

| I have always worn one, ATV, Motorcycle or SXS. If you want to know why, just go to work with me at the hospital one day and see my patients in the neuro ICU who I am testing to see if their brain still works after an injury that could have been prevented. Like you not lecturing but after 24 years of working with head trauma makes it a no brainer for me (pun intended) | |

| I always wear one when trail riding. If I'm hauling firewood around or something then I don't but I still buckle up. | |

| Wearing the helmet is a discipline to me. Nothing I say is intended to be taken as no more than the things I believe in. I truly believe that if I get in any kind of crash that may or may not involve my brain, it will be in my best interest to have the helmet own. I will admit that after riding the sxs I have been tempted to not wear the helmet and have a few times. Like others, if I am riding around at some type of event I probably won't have it own, but while trail riding, I will always try to wear one. Thanks for the post Ron and I hope your wife heals quick and leaves no reminder of it except the memory that will help her strap that protection on when necessary. But we must always remember that we are all adults and able to decide for ourselves and many times we don't always make the best decision, but the decisions are still ours to make. Again, good post and thanks for sharing...MD | |

| From street bikes and dirt bikes through road racing to off road, I'd feel uncomfortable without a helmet. I'm talking 45 years(shut up JimBob). Will admit to going to a full face Giro Mtn Bike helmet for weight and ventilation considerations. Also use a 5 pt. harness. Ask for a 3 min. warning before we take off and no big deal(shut up JimBob). | |

| I don't wear one putting around behind the house but I always wear one when I'm doing serious trail riding.
It happens so fast when things go bad that there's almost never enough time to react. | |

| It was probably one of the worst things I had to see in my life... Come around the turn and see her rzr smashed into a rock... It was enough Saturday I had my helmet on all day...I don't know if any of yall were in the wagon wheel area on last Friday but if you were and seen a rzr being towed with its front end up on the back of another rzr that was us | |
