PostSubject: 2014 - 2016 Kawasaki safety recall on Teryx models   December 12th 2015, 10:29 pm

I received the anticipated letter today from kawasaki announcing the floor board protection recall.  Mine is a 2015 and has some plating on it from the factory.  But according to this letter, it says this recall is above and beyond the current factory protection provided.

I'll call the dealership next week and get any information I can on the recall.  More than likely Kawasaki has seen the JBS floor-board protectors and are going to try to replicate a good product.  I ride mine so conservative, I probably will never need this protection, but I guess I will let them install what they feel is necessary...MD

Why not if it's free.

JBS might want to see what Kawasaki is up to

Mike you need to get the recall done or get JBS protectors. Ask Glenn he wasn't even going 5 mph when his busts. By the way weren't we talking at one time about that little aggravating chirping noise. Glenn is chasing it on his T4 now and I thought you found yours.

Thanks for the advice Keeter,

As for the T2 floorboards, I will let the dealership install what ever is covered by the recall.

The chirping noise we talked about was on the RZR.  It was in the clutch and the best I could nail it down was riding in real dusty conditions.

The noise I spoke of on the T2 is the mechanical backlash noise while riding the trails as I get on and off the foot-feed (gas pedal for the younger folks).  I have been told by everyone who has one it is normal and not to be concerned with it.  It can be minimized by smooth throttle control.  As you also know, the rear brake is in line with the drive train and has to add to this backlash noise when getting on and off the throttle...MD

good one  Hoho, good hint there Timmi, might have something to do with weight.  BUT, I do remember that ride.  BobT took us through that bottom off Windmill Gap Road and then onto Pocahontas.  It was a great day of riding...MD

I wasn't saying that :)
It's just one of those noises that bother you if you don't know what it is.
The Wolverine has a noise like a harmonic ringing at 13 mph
other owners have said theirs does it too
it's the only time you hear it

Timmi, I wasn't offended, my riding brother, I just couldn't resist the opportunity.

I had already heard about some noise the Wolverine makes.  When I was asking questions about the backlash noise in the T2, that is the kind of answer I got from a Kawasaki Store.  I should have known there would be diversionary answer from Yamaha's competition.  It was easier to say that than try to answer a question they really didn't know the answer.  I thought it was actually funny and I told the guy.  He kind of uttered "oops".

All of the moving parts I guess will have to resonate noises under the same conditions every time.  I'm just riding and enjoying mine and the noise gets less and less noticeable.  That Gyrene, Hap, and myself are going to do a rerun of the after Thanksgiving ride the weekend after Christmas.  Let me know if you want to come on over...MD

good one  JBS, yes we will.  Plus any of our members that are available the Saturday or Sunday after Christmas are welcome to join in.  We plan to ride some of the H/M Pocahontas, some of the Outlaw Trails west of US52 on Saturday, and probably the Spearhead Original Pocahontas Trail on Sunday in the two days we will be riding.  I'm going to try to twist Timmi's arm to come over and ride one or both...MD
