Done a little playing today with camera.... Here's my 07 chevy Duramax LBZ, with 4" MBRP Straight pipe (no muffler or cat), 7" tip, aFe turbo mouthpiece, intercoooler tubes, EFILive tuned by me, Banks Intake, intake resonator plugged, pcv re-route, PPE exhaust manifolds/up-pipes, Diamond Eye down-pipe, PPe fuel rail shimmed, Airdog 160 fuel pump, Transgo jr. shift kit, suncoast 1056 converter....it puts out around 560 hp.And I think it sounds pretty good.

It does sound good. Diesel pickups around here sound like logging trucks.
Just curious about your fuel mileage. I have a two level(60/90 hp) tuner on my Excursion and fuel economy actually improved with the 60hp tune.

Finz,
All of my friends that have tuners have seen increases in fuel mileage the higher up they go in the tune. One of my friends has the Juice with attitude and rides around with it on the top level.....I think its 5. He drives it normal and gets better mileage at the top tune vs. the lower tunes.

Another reason to love our trucks, huh?

Durn, I thought we were going to get to see some tire smoke!! And a lot of those jaspers with a down loader think they are getting better milage, but they ain't! The down loader fools the computer, in that it doesn't know that extra fuel is going through and it figures the milage based on the stock fuel flow! Also, most people will not take the time to fill a diesel up correctly. You have to keep dribbleing fuel into the tank until it is filled to the very tippy top, then do that every time that you fill up. I have owned and worked to many diesel pick ups to believe the claims that some of those fellows are makeing. And the guys that think they get better mpg at 80 than they do at 55 make me want to shoot them in the foot. I fill my dodge up about as slow as I can, and can still get over 5 more gallons in there before it is filled to the top. 5 gallons will sure throw off the mpg figures. And for the most part, the older trucks got better milafe than the newer ones, at least the dodges did. My 93 dually would get from 20 to 25 empty every time. The 03 got 20 three times in 355,000 miles. But it is a 4wd. But it will knock down 18mpg if I keep it under 68 on the highway, and will do it about every tank full. And I have checked all but about 5 tank fills in all of those miles. I get like every body else when snow and rain is leaking in around my shirt collar.

My 7.3 Excursion gets it's best fuel economy @ 2000 rpm and below. Cruising to the Outer Banks, doing the math myself, it gets 20 mpg. Computer calculator says 19.1.

My edge ez set on heavy tow when running empty will show about 8 to 13 more mpg than its getting. While under load, it will read about 3mpg over and above what it is actually getting. But I know it and don't feel the need to bs about some out standing fuel mileage that is impossiable to achieve.
