| We were at Bluewell the weekend of the 19 & 20 and our friends rzr had the straps cut, something scared them away. We found out later that 2 rzrs were stolen in Bramwell from the parking lot there. We haven't heard any further details. | |

| Rick at Ashland Resort rode around all night over the weekend while we were there with his light flashing to keep an eye things. I guess they were deterred while he was doing this. I'm guessing the patrolling stopped last night with probably a lot less folks there.
Hate to hear this. They do have some securty cameras around the premisis. They may need a few more.

| That sucks! I was paranoid all 3 nights we were there even with chaining it up to my truck. Not sure what sites some of the others have been taken from but it looks like site 59 is a short push to the bath house then it's all down hill from there. I think if I was staying at a site that's close to one of the hills I would make it as hard as possable for them to take. Hope they have insurance. | |

| I tried to warn as many over the weekend that I could, there was several that was'nt going to lock them up until I told them about the 900 that got stolen a few weeks back, WHEN they catch them they should give them a good ol WV hanging in front of the whole town | |

| I was talking to Rick this weekend and they said they are about to the point where they are going to lock a gate at 10pm down near the road. Nobody in or out.
I told him I didnt think that would work out too well. Especially in an emergency.
I dont know what they are going to do but they are going to have to do something. I think its to that point.
Rick did go on to tell me that the problem is at all vacation camping places like theirs. They are not the only one having this problem. I have no idea if thats true or not. |

| They need a pair of those GeterDun night vision goggles!!! Them things were awesome!
This does suck though, think a gate is about the best option they have. Or spend a lot of money on cameras that track on movement.

| I think a gate would work well. They could put a phone at the gate for emergency use that would call campground security. They could also put in a hotel style electronic lock and give you a key card to get in or out when you check in. The key card would register who went in our out if anything did happen.
We walked by cabin 22 on Saturday evening and the SXS parked out front had the key in it and it was not locked up. Would have been pretty easy to jump in a drive off. The least Ashland should do is advise folks to lock up vehicles when you check in.

| i think it should be my responsibility to have insurance and chain the damn thing up. if you make it easy pickins for a thief, he will pick it. thats the same reason i have a carry conceal permit, its my right and responsibility to protect myself. i did laugh about the cops were called at 400 am and showed up at 800 am. has to say something! lol. | |

| I don't like how the sign on the door that says no firearms on premises. That's an open invitation for thieves.
I think the response time for the cops is crazy. I mean Princeton is not that far away, and you know there are lots of troopers around there with the interstates running through.

| They should get ahold of the local tv news and explain the thefts and the polices lack of help and how this is going to have an impact on local tourist dollars. May be enough to light a fire in the local officials to get it looked into. |

| One thing that would help is if the permits for the trail system required you to register the vehicle and not just the driver. Other states do this and it at least helps keep people from riding stolen vehicles on legal trails. | |

I think u will be fine if u chain it up or like I saw a few folks do, reload it on their trailers. it's no worse than staying at a hotel off any interstate . Just don't make yourself an easy target.

| I got a rhino 450 bait car, but I don't think that's gonna work. Seriously, the thing to do is make your ride harder to take as Jet said. Use your head on this. Don't get the cabins close to the pavement at Asland unless you are going to stay up all night and set a trap. But, if you must stay at the easy picking spot, secure your ride, or leave it with a friend that is staying further away. Instead of patrolling the campground all the time, they need to have a gate on that H&M trail by the store, and on the main entrance. Stop and ID everyone going out after dark, and write down their names. | |
