| Where is a good place to stay around Bergoo? I have never been there and am wanting to go there around the end of next month. Possibly looking for someone that is familiar with the area to ride with. More than likely be two of us coming down to ride. Is Snowshoe close enough to get to all the trails? | |

| Elk Springs is very friendly and nice. You can ride your machine to Bergoo from Elk Springs. If you stay at Snowshoe you would need to trailer your machine to Bergoo. I would guess that it's about 25 miles to Bergoo from Snowshoe one way, by going across Dry Branch Rd, and almost all of that is paved.
If you stay at Elk Springs I would reserve quite a ways in advance. They are a fly fishermans paridise, and this time of year is extremely busy. April, May, and June are the hardest months to get a room.

| Let me know if you want some more company. I had planned to go early last July and then that freak storm hit us and took out power across much of the state, including Elk Springs Resort for several days.
I have not ridden Bergoo so I wouldn't be a good guide but I'd like to ride there.

| Isn't that National Forest there at the lodge? I've heard they are sticklers when it comes to riding in the National Forest, even on existing roads??? Are the trails from the lodge to Red Oak on NF? Thanks in advance! | |

| The National Forest is on the other side of the river. Down around Whitaker falls is where the National forest ends, and you are not allowed to ride in the National Forest. | |

| You may want to call Carol's Store in Bergoo. She has small cabins for rent and last year they where $50.00 a night. If camping, you can camp anywhere at the end of Leatherwood Road. | |
