| I was at world class yesterday checking out the ace. As I was there I was asking about the new colors for the 900. Amanda told me they went to order for their next 6 months and all that you could order in the 900 was the base red. That's it. No LE's. She seems to think that the 900 is done and the only reason you can get a base 900 is because there are a lot in the warehouse.
If Polaris gets rid of the 900 I will be shocked. I love that 900. I think it's a great motor and a great machine.
What do u guys think? 900 gone? |

| I think the 900 engine will replace the 800. I don't know if they will keep the trailing arm model. | |

| I got a 2013 XP 900 LE and plan to keep it for 3 more years at least. It's all I need for now. | |

It looks ok. Easy to get in and out. Roof will not protect u from anything. It's so small. My knees hit the dash. Looked nicer in person though. |

| I kind of thought the 900 would take the place of the S. | |

| I figured the 800 RZR's would be gone and they would bring down the price of the 900 | |

| I look for the 800 to go away and a slightly detuned 900 (70-75 horse) in a 60 inch and 50 inch machine to take the place. Hopefully an updated chassis houses the whole package. I would expect the price to be less than the current 900 and probably a couple hundred more than the current 800.
Just my guess I don't have any inside knowledge.
Let me also add that if that is indeed what they do they can expect to sell me a 4 seat version of the budget 900 in a year or two.

| From what I hear. All of the motors that are NOT under the Pro Star design will eventually be phased out. Which includes the 800 twin, which to be honest, has served its time and just needs to be replaced because its just outdated and underpowered in todays standards. If you've noticed the 500 is no longer used in the Ranger lineup and has been replaced by the Pro Star 570. Eventually the 400 will be gone too. I hope Polaris replaces the 800 with a 70 to 75HP mil thats maybe on par with a Rotax 800 Vtwin. Polaris would be stupid to get rid of the 900, especially the more affordable base red model, cause some of us don't want to pay $20K for a 1000XP. | |

| Polaris definitely has too many models but that is the marketing scheme their CEO decided he wants to offer. I think the 800 and 900 will disappear and be replaced with the 850XP motor. That would leave a 570, 850, and 1000. That makes more sense to me.
Now in 2015 when they add the 1150 XP it will become clearer... All will be ProStar. Polaris is making the most of the engine developer SwissAuto they specifically purchased to create the ProStar line to compete against BRP/Rotax. I still see ProStar as slightly inferior to Rotax (due to Rotax core engine reliability being excellent) but it is much closer in performance then the old Fuji's.

| I would say the 900 will stick around for awhile long. My dealers around me are saying the same out being able to order more though. | |

That makes the most sense. Even the ACE is a Prostar engine. A parallel twin will never have the torque of a v twin, but in dohc form it can put out a lot of hp because it revs to the moon. I think the 900 Prostar (really an 875 cc) will become the standard RZR along with the 570.

| The 800 needs to go. I look for the 900 to be slightly revamped and put into a different, RZR S type, chassis that will replace the current 800 and 900 all together, effectively becoming something in-between the 570 and 1000. The RZR 570 will remain their economy/trail SxS and the 1000 as their pure sport model. Just my guess. | |

| I ask my dealer this question, and he said he don't see the 800 going anywhere soon. Said they sell to many of them. | |

| Probably a change in frame or body style coming, but the 550 , 850 , 1000 motors sounds more Polaris's speed. | |

| Travis didnt know much on this. All he would say is that its kinda crowded with the 570, 800, 900, then the 1000. He is sure Polaris may be making some changed to broaden the gap.
Who knows that they plan to do. It sounds like if people want a new 900 LE they better get it but then again I could be wrong. All I can difinitively tell you is that the 900 LE is not an option for a dealer to order right now. Whats out there is whats left. Few base 900 Red available. |
