| My mother in law just traded her Ranger on a RZR XC. And i see that Polaris has done nothing to the horrible clutch. Are there any aftermarket fixes to make it smoother instead of all or nothing?

| That's what I understand, and honestly the clutch in the 800 S I drove recently would keep me from ultimately pulling the trigger on it. I've never driven a 900 or a 570 to feel the difference, but I hear it's a lot smoother. Not to open this can of worms, but it's been really interesting to me the last few weeks that most dealers around my area have tons of 800 S's and have substantial discounts on them. | |

| I have seen 2013 800 s le new for 12,000, crazy. The xc may have a different clutch than other 800 models. | |

| Every Polaris I've been in is the same. All or nothing when you hit the gas. They are very jerky. I guess my teryx just has me spoiled. But if you get in a tight spot and need to go easy and wiggle around or through something, I can see some plastics getting cracked. | |

| I know my 570 isn't like that. It has stock everything. I have never driven an 800 or 900. | |

| Tell mom-in-law to hold a foot on the brake and engage the clutch(with the throttle) until she's ready. Not a deficency - a characteristic. Trade it off. " /> | |

| Mike, I had that same impression the 1st time I had the rzr out that I owned. At the end of the day, I got used to it and learned how to drive it in those situatons. The thing I found was that if you keep just enough throttle to keep the clutch engaged, you will have a nice slow controlled crawl with the low range in a rzr. But, if you put someone that gets a little panic if the trail gets technical and they stop a lot, then you may get some unwanted jumps forward. For slow speed rough stuff, I loved that rzr. The low range is really low, and the power down low is great. With no wet clutch, they are a drivers machine when it comes to the slow speed crawling. With good driving skills, they are about the best thing you can do technical trails in. | |
