Heading out to Taylor Park on August 14th. Staying in the Cabins there the 15th thru the 20th. Then going up to Silverthorne for 3 days to ride the Shrine/Ptarmigan pass areas. Coming back the 24th. Will post some pics when I get back. A little video of where we will be riding. Hope to get about 600 miles of riding in in 7 days.

Great place to go. BobT's maps are dead on -- I've been with him twice.

Good Post. Maybe a ride out west will be a plan one day, but not in the near future. Thanks for the information though. It sure looks like it will be a lot of riding fun...MD

The riding is great, but equally great is the adventure/sight seeing. This is a must do trip! I'm taking a riding buddy with me and the Maverick. (His Teryx is staying home) Splitting the expenses makes it very affordable. 10 days lodging and gas for the trip will cost us $1000 each. A long weekend at Ashland resort costs $5-$600 or more depending on what unit you stay in. This will be my 3rd trip out there, and it is just as awesome every time. Spending time in the Rocky Mountains never gets old. It's an item on the bucket list that never gets checked off.

I went out to Moab in 2007. It was awesome as well. Heres a picture of me at Chicken corner.

Here are some videos I made at Taylor Park a few years ago.
Mt. Antero - very high with drop offs
Flag Mtn- easy and beautiful
Upper Italian- one real scary section
Devils Punchbowl - one scary section

The Upper Italian was far easier on a SxS. Not nearly as scary.
This last trip we did take the SxS's up to the top of some mountain that coming down on the backside was tight steep switchbacks. Wish I knew the name. Really exciting.
The first trip I took to Taylor Park in 2010 with BobT cost me less than $600 for a week. Split gas 3 ways and stayed in Taylor Park in a 3 bed cabin. Incredible deal.

Yep that's it Bob. Great place. I tried to find pics of the switchbacks on the back side. They were kinda tight and put the driver side on the edge. Fun Stuff.
