| Anyone on here have a Polaris General? I was wondering how they were doing and if you guys liked them. Pros and Cons.
Thanks in advance. Those Generals sure do look nice. |

| MY brother just got a 17 deluxe. it does run and ride very nice. but it is not a rzr... it is better than any other utility utv that i have driven. but its not a rzr. and the driveline or the front diff is noisey like in the rangers. | |

| Yes the General and the 1000s share the exact same running gear. The front diff in my 1000s is noisy as well. They have the stronger XP 1000 front diff where the 900s do not. Noise comes from the pinion in the diff not being shimmed right. I run Amsoil with a couple ounces of Lucas additive and it really quiets it down. | |

| Tbone, I have a local rider friend that purchased the middle priced (Blue one) model. He rode it around 200 miles on a short weekend ride about a month ago. He had nothing but good comments. The one thing he did comment on was that he thinks it not as good on fuel as he thought it might be.
I rode it and it performed as I expected it to. Lots of power. Several safety switches like the seat belt not fastened rev limiter and another I forgot what it was. It has a very comfortable cockpit...MD

| Thanks for the replies. I really like the general but am really upset about this recall stuff. I am either going to do a General or an X3. That X3 looks like alot of fun to drive but the general is more practical for where we ride. |

| TBONE, this past weekend I was back up with a group of rider friends and just happened to notice that there were many Generals on the trails and in most of the groups that we would meet or see go by, many times there would be a General in the midst. ALSO, the most that I saw was the Orange Color, which is the top model I do believe...MD | |

| I've seen a lot of issues with the reverse chain breaking while backing up. I think super atv or someone has already come out with a HD version. | |

| You know a lot of people make a big deal about that reverse chain but to be honest, I have never had one to break in the machines I have had. Its just me thinking out loud here but I have noticed people breaking the chains that had big tires trying to reverse out of the mud. I still really like the General but still weary of them over all this recall stuff |

| I took ownership of a 2016 General Deluxe in January and have about 700 miles on it. I think it handles great, has lots of power, and is very comfortable. Cabin is nice an roomy. I had a Ranger XP 900 before so night and day difference for trail riding. I have not owned a RZR, but keep up just fine with them. I like having a little more cargo space than the RZR. There is no free-wheeling witht he General. It holds back til it stops. I have had no issues so far. What I don't like is the fit of the plastic. They screwed up here. Doors separate at the top, rear skins won't stay tight, etc. The locking mechanism that holds plastic pieces together is not large enough.
There is a forum for Generals - polarisgeneralforum.com with lots of info.
The Deluxe has the Fox shocks, and a Polaris 4500 lb winch, roof and doors, and sound bar. I added glass on each end, cargo box, rock sliders, and soon a UHMW skid plate.
