| I have been pulling my hair out over tablet/phone slow(no charge) events on the trail. I was on the verge of dumping my Pantech for a traditional GPS device until I found this android app -
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.abmantis.galaxychargingcurrent.free&hl=en
Yes it does work on my Pantech, as well as, my S5 Active. With it I discovered 12v chargers, 110v wall chargers and USB cables that were not working or barely able to charge a device in non-use. I also learned which charger/cable combination gave the best performance out of a drawer full of spare charger accessories.
Cables do make a lot of difference and found that 28/24awg is recommended.
I know I'm behind the curve in handheld device use but thought someone else might find this info useful.

I should also say that your charger needs to be rated 5v @ 2A.
