i bought a Go-Pro HD Hero. the videos are great but i have it mounted on the cross bar behind and in between the seats. the wide angle is so wide that both the driver and passenger are in the pictures. in the video with both the driver and passenger bouncing around it is terrible to watch. plus, it keeps track of how many times i crack open the bottle of jack, damn my wife will NOT like that part. lol. anyone know how or if you can change how wide the wide angle is or do i need to relocate it infront of the cabin area? plus, it seems to shut off on its own for no reason at all.

I have mine mounted on the dash and it works great. It does take a little bit to get use to the buttons but once you do it works awesome!

All of the videos I've posted have been with my go-pro. I love it, work awesome!
Jet - sounds like you have auto-off turned on. It can be set to turn off after 30, 60, or 120 seconds or it can set set to stay on. The wide angle mode can be set between 127 & 170 degrees. However, the 127 degree setting is r5 which is the highest resolution. Great picture in that mode but will fill up the sd card in no time.
My settings:
r3 - 720p 60fps
SPt - best for in vehicle light levels
bLO - Blink on while filming
bPF - Button beep
nSC - north american tv mode
Here is the Manual

I havent tried it out on the trail yet but bought the GoPro suction cup mount. It seems to suck pretty good!! Planning on mounting it on the dash.
Also, how long is your battery lasting? Mine seems to last 1 hour.....is that about normal?

When I bought my go pro at REI they offered a free school on them. I may have to go to it.

Maybe I should have you call for me ... Nic dropped it & when we emailed to ask how we would go about getting the lense replaced they said that if we shipped our old one back they could give us 10% off of a new one, that they didn't do repairs .... $250 & they don't do repairs!!!! We emailed back & told them we could get 10% off from our local dealer, that their offer was a joke ... we never heard anything back. Whatever you do keep it in the case because if you scratch the lens your screwed!!! I'm gonna try and fix it with some automotive clear & a buffer ... we'll see how it goes ... I may port it before I'm done:lol!:

Stock mount on the dash, very stable there. I have a couple of roll bar mounts but don't like it behind my head.
