| I am all for different groups. I know we come just to see everyone and we like to ride for the beautiful sights of WV. We like to ride at a slower pace also.
Too much money goes into the machine for us to ride hard and play in the mud.

| As of now, I do not think I will be at the Spring ride, I was considering not coming even if I was off that weekend (but I am not).
As for the groups, great idea. I have ridden with smaller groups, rode slower and easier and covered more ground than we did.
I ended up in the back and many times had to go as hard as I could just to catch up. As Jet said (kinda) if the leaders mash it after going through a obstacle by the time it cycles through, the tail end is turning off the engine to wait, than running as fast as conditions allow to catch up.
I don't have the money to put $2000 shocks, lift kits, oversize tires and make the repairs that riding that hard causes. The Fall ride was tight for me as it was.
All that being said, I did enjoy meeting everyone and enjoyed the trails, I would have enjoyed the ride much more if I had had time to turn my head for a few seconds and look around. Between trying to see the rider in front of me, watch the trail and making sure the rider behind me was still there (Oh, and watching Temp gauge on Sunday) it was a long day.

| Ok , I'm gald that I asked this question cause it seems I was not the only one thinking it ... I know in the middle and toward the end of the pack there is the slinky effect , STOP / move / go like hell / stop and you never seem to know if it is a wreck , break down or lunch . With a smaller group the radios would work better and problems would be closer or maybe even the tools to fix . I am glad to see there are people who will admit that they just want to enjoy the scenery , some that just want mudd , and those who want to go supersonic , we have all those in this group and its what make it unique , I would just like to be able to move at a little faster pace but don't want anyone to have to push to ride harder to keep up and cause them to do something to hurt themselves or someone else in the process..... Speaking just from the aspect of the radios , total oposite directions wold work the best because the High power radios would have the group converstaion mixed , or partial breakin of other conversations . The spray paint was also one of the best things on the spring ride , If we did do 2-3 groups there would need to be 3 different colors case we crossed the same trails , Safety green , yellow , orange ? | |

But I am undecided on attending, have to use 36hrs of vacation on that weekend, only get 80hrs/yr and scheduled to work all 3 days. + the cost and the large group.... I still have a while to decide.

| Elmo, FWIW, Saturday went kinda crappy compared to most of these group rides. Sundays ride went really well by comparison. Just thought I would throw this out there so you will know what to expect in the future. If you don't come back for the big rides, you will have a great time on smaller rides that are put together on here. The cool thing about the big group rides is you can figure out who likes your type of riding and pace you like to run. Yes, the big group rides can get a little pricey, and make you ride in ways that you don't want. It's just gonna happen with a group this big. But, the payoff is finding people to ride with, and places to ride that suit you best. | |

I understand that about finding those you want to (like to) ride with, but when you are all in one group, you can't seperate the ones that want to ride one way vs. another unless you listen to others wanting to slow down, or speed-up, or more mud..... but your stuck with the group, espically if you don't know the area. Don't get me wrong, I did enjoy the company, the trails, and most of the riding. just being toward the back most of the time it was catch-up most of the time, couldn't relax and enjoy the ride.

| I would follow Bubba anywhere because Everyone was driving to fast, including those in the front. One fellow I was following didn't have a rear view mirror. As Bobby has said repeatedly, you must wait for those behind you. If you do, that will slow the whole column down, which is good. I personally like to look around when I'm driving. Many thanks to all those who make these types of rides possible. | |
