| I would not go 3". I jacked my S up the other night, unbolted the shock, and dropped the tires down 2" and right about there is where the inner cv starts to bind up. You want your shocks to limmit your down travel not the axles. I would say the 4 would be the same as the S when it comes to this.
Do buy some good skids for it. You are going to drag in alot of places that the 2 seaters don't. But, when it comes to climbing and a smooth ride, that 4 is gonna own everything out there.

| Hump, my 2012 S has 12" of clearance but i have alot of adjustment with the fox shocks still available. i'd like to go with the emp 2" kit or should i just continue to adjust the shocks to get an extra two inches. which would be better. any idea how much each full turn on the shock equals in lift? | |

| EMP & I would only go with a 2" if you are going to do a lift. I agree about CN binding. | |

I have no idea, that's why I haven't make the purchase yet. Someone has got to try it and see what happens. I can tell you that 1/2 movement of the preload makes a huge difference in ride. When I built my bumper and mounted it up with the winch out in front, it made mine to soft. I adjusted up 1" and it rode like crap. I think I'm at about 1/2" more preload than the factory setting, with the shock valving set about half way. If you stiffen the preload up much you will lose the ability to keep the tires on the ground. I had mine to the point that the shocks would not bottom out and stuff the tires when I ran over a big rock, rut, etc at slow speeds. One thing is for sure, you can kill some serious time messing with the adjustments on these shocks. You will drive yourself nuts messing with them, but once you get it right, it will be the poop!

| A 2" lift is actually gonna give you about a inch and half more ground clearance...not 2".... | |

Jet...keep this in mind....the further you adjust on you shocks to get lift you are extending the shock...therefore loosing droop shock travel. When you get into off camber situations you need droop to keep all you wheels on the ground. That's why I went with a 2" lift...that way you keep all your shock travel. Just a suggestion.

| Thanks jbeane, i have an S with the fox shocks and 15" of clearence seems to me to be needed for riding wv. every ride is a combo of mud, rocks, water crossing. that 2" emp kit is on my list. | |

before he bought the lift, we put the springs up 3 clicks. i think 5-6 levels is all they have. and it raised it a inch or so and really helped out with bottoming out. like said before either on here or the rzr site, by adjusting your shocks only will give you the little bit of lift, but you will lose some of the droop in the shocks. so the lift is deff the way to go for the clearance an still retaining the rideablity and handling. i belive aaron has since dropped the spring back down to the bottom setting or next one up. i havent even picked my 12 S LE up yet and im already making a list for parts lol

| Right now I have the setting on the shocks all the way clicked down and it measuring up 15". Before I put the lift on I had them set on 3 clicks it was a lil rough. so I turned it back to 2 clicks. But now that I put the EMP lift on I turned it all the way down, no need to have it clicked up. That lift really lifted it up! | |
