| Oohhh Crap , specs says it has a public adress option ... I will tell you that is the mic that I had and it is heavy and moves all over the cab if you have it on leash... I suggest ordering a new mic .... Seems like I got one shipped for $17 on Ebay ... | |

I would attach it some how but I don't know what you are talking about so how about a link to one like you have. And what about that model in general ?

| That looks like a good one Bobby, do you have someone to program it for you or will the seller program it? That can be a PIA unless you know someone and Rick might if you don't | |

| I have the Kenwood 780 or 870 .... I have not had much chance to ride for the past year but each time I have tried to figure out what to do with the mic!!! I tried the thing like truckers use with the pull cord. I may have went a mile before I took that off. I tried the mic clip mounted to the radio and although that was OK .... it was to much trouble to be driving and trying to get the mic hooked back in the clip.
The last thing I tried worked well but not really what I was after was a ring that went around the mic cord that then had a alligator clip. I hooked the ring on the cord about a foot from the mic and clipped it too my shirt. The mic layed in my lap. The part that didn't work was trying to get out and forgetting to unhook the alligator clip!!
Not sure if your does but mine has a speaker in the back side of the mic. That comes in handy for holding to your ear if you are in the gas and someone is talking!!

And what about that model in general ? Mine is like Daryls... so I did a search for TK 880 ... but by the specs yours uses a 8 pin mic ... ours is 6 pin ... I guess the other two are PA ... It is half the weight of the grey mike .. I do suggest the retractable mic holder .... Here is where I got mine for $17 shipped ... http://www.ebay.com/itm/SPEAKER-MIC-KENWOOD-KMC-30-TK880-TK8102-TK8150-/120854734862?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1c2380e80e#ht_1622wt_1270

| Bobby, Make sure it will program in the 460 to 465 range. Those are good radios. If you need programming let me know. Mine is the 880, just a newer unit. As far as the mic goes that mic is tough, damn near bullet proof. Go to a two way dealer that services police and fire departments, you should have a Kenwood dealer in Blacksburg, and get one of the heavy duty mic holders, should only be a couple bucks. You will also need a NMO antenna mount/cable set and a 1/4 wave antenna. | |

| I HIGHLY doubt it will work without being programed it would be a real fluke for it to already be programed for FRS and GMRS frequencies. Your local shop MIGHT do it however you may have some issues since these radios are a little 'hot' for these frequencies, in other words we are broadcasting on a much higher output than we should be......but it never hurts to ask. | |

| Cool, good deal if you can get it programmed. External speaker and a retractable mic mount and you're good to go....oh, and the 1/4 wave antenna in the proper frequency and a NMO mount bracket.
Here are a few of the items:
NMO mount:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/370557809258?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649
External speaker so you can hear with a helmet on:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=380409714316
Retractable mic mount:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=380408273089
I'm going to let someone else spec/link the antenna because I can't remember the frequency.

| Bobby that seems to be a good price. The antenna, NMO mount with the cable set(coax) should run you $25-$30, good heavy mic clip hanger about $5. That place near your house should be able to hook you up with everything, if not let me know. | |

Thanks for the links Sure, I had them in my recently bought items on eBay so I just had to pull them up. On the antenna, try to buy one that is for a Kenwood since it takes a different connector to the radio. I bought one for Motorola and had to go to Radio Shack and buy a different connector and splice it. Kymedic might be able to help you program it even though you bought it on eBay. Might be worth contacting him. I know he told me that if I even needed anymore channels I would do it for shipping.
