| My neighbor has this trailer for sale. It is an 18 and has 3500 pound axles under it. Needs new tires but built well. Is this a safe and good way to haul these machines or do I need to buy something bigger? What do you guys think? |

| oh yes plenty of truck. Do you think they are safe to ride like that? Also I think those tires are kinda wimpy. They are cracking. From top of the tire to the wood there is 6 inches......it wont touch would it?? |

| Yes they will ride great just like that and yes put tires on it,and the tires will not touch even if you did put a car on it,tie them down good, you have a lot of money to roll off that trailer | |

| That sounds ok,but if you put tires on it you will have probable at least 1800 in it,look up L+D trailer sales, call them and see what a new one will cost you,you may have to drive a few miles to get it but they are nice trailers,I have 2, and probable have less money in a new one,or use their price to maybe try to talk him down a little, good luck | |

| Thanks for the info. He is my neighbor and a good one at that so I don't want to make him mad. It's a strong trailer. Very well built. His deal sounds better than that 20 I was about to buy for 2600 dollars. |

| Looks like a low boy trailer I have a buddy that has two of them and he hauls his track hoe and skidsteer with his and has been for many years I see nothing wrong with that trailer but I would invest in some wheel ties they bolt to the floor and you strap down the wheel and tires instead of the frame, keeps the bouncing from throwing off your straps or tie downs and loosing a machine or two | |

| Hey tbone Looks like a good deal to me. Just put some tie downs in the floor between popo and can am and tie off to both ends of trailer and it should be good. | |

| That is a good price TBONE and a much heavier trailer than you need for what you are hauling so go for it . | |

| I too think it would be a good purchase at that price..... the sxs look good on there to me.... Like said previously I would use the etrack and the wheel bonnets to secure them with..... | |

| Tbone , really all you need is a landscape trailer like this ... http://winstonsalem.craigslist.org/for/2853435149.html It will cost you a little more money but much less weight on you truck , cheaper tires , you could move this one ( to a point ) by hand , rear gate just incase you lost a strap your machine is not goin to leave the trailer... And your gonna use less fuel to pull ..The other trailer is more of a machine trailer ... . | |

| I've been doing a lot of internet shopping for trailers the last couple of days, and that is a good price for an overdeck trailer like that. You may well have already thought of this yourself, but just looking at the picture, you might try backing the commander on first with the back wheels all the way to the front of the trailer. That way the bed of the commander could stick out over the front a bit and give you a bit more room to get the wheels of the XP farther up from the very back of the trailer. Don't know if there are any wind resistance issues putting the commander on there backwards, though. If you buy that trailer, you might also want to install some Pingle wheel chocks at the back of the trailer just to give you a little more peace of mind that nothing will slide off the back. Just make sure to measure the width of the SXS tire and make sure the chock is big enough:
http://www.pingelonline.com/wheel_chock_removable.htm
All the above having been said, Punder is probably right that all you really need to haul the weight of 2 SXS's is a decent landscape trailer. Keep in mind, though, that an 18' landsscape trailer with gates that fold up at the rear means that you can't have any part of the SXS hanging off the back, so an 18' landscape trailer may not be long enough unless you do back the commander into it and let part of its bed hang over the front.

Ideally I need a 20 because the commander is really long. With the pic listed above, the rear end can hang over the rear a little. GGM, I want to haul them both facing forward. It could blow out a shield. It was really tight with commander in front but with it in the back, the commander can hang over a little and there's a foot between them. I do like how that trailer is high so it won't bottom out. I have never used an open trailer without rails so it makes me worry. Thanks for the opinions so far. |

It says to tie down all 4 tires. Would you do that? Or which ones? |

| Also do the ramps come off and slide under trailer or do they just fold up, if they fold up are they going to hit the back of the machine | |

| I agree Bobby but I would put one on the front just to be safe I have seen where the brakes was hit hard and equipment slid till it hit front rail | |

| I am not positive but seems you have to have a tie on each corner , which would be each tire by law in NC .. If so then I would run E track down the full length and strap each tire .. | |

| I know on heavy equipment you do but on a Sxs I don't know I wouldn't think it would be any diff than a lawn mower and most if not all I have seen never even tie them down | |

The ramps slide underneath. There's a holder made for them. |

I think they are suppose to , but few do .. I put 4 straps on my RZR in the enclosed but that is cause I have them and the d rings are there ... with no sides to stop it , I would spare no amount of money on straps cause if it comes off that machine could do a lot of damage , and he would be liable for not securing a load and the damage it causes .. Trailer with sides or enclsoed for me ...
