| what is the mhz on the two way radios you guys are using when your on group rides is it between 450 and 470 MHZ? I know i have asked a few guys on here already but i need to know for sure before i spend 3oo bucks and it not be right. and thanks for everyones help | |

| I have no idea about this stuff, other than the hand helds have the frequencies needed. That's the way I'm gonna go because it's cheap, and that's one more thing I don't have to worry about draining my battery or getting wet. | |

| Don't know what radio you are buying, but in the past the cost has been around $150.00 or so for a programed Kenwood. | |

| I have seen them on e-bay for around $150.00 also for everything & they offer to program it before they ship it to you | |

| I think, but not sure, it's all the above. Mostly operate on channel 3. | |

No problem I found mine on e-bay and actually won the bid at $60.00 but it did not include the antenna and I had it programmed.It's hard to find one that cheap so I got lucky I guess.

| that sounds great i just need to know if this one will work so i can buy it,,, lol The manual says 25 Watts, 8 desired spot frequencies within a 5 Mhz spread within the range 450-470 Mhz | |

| 450 - 470 mhz will be fine. All the freqs for FRS and GMRS are from 462 - 467, a 5 mhz spread. Sounds like you will only be able to have 8 of those channels programmed in though. | |

| 8 channels is plenty we only use channel 3 on our rides | |

| i cant remember who i bought mine from on this web site. if i remember correctly it was 125, programed with antenea and mike. its been sitting for over a year and my stepson installed the radio last weekend but hasnt hooked it up yet. planning on having it done this weekend. anyone know how the heck you test one? | |

| The easiest way would be get a little handheld and put it on same channel as ur radio. Have somebody go down the street with it and see if yall can hear each other. | |

Yea to hell with that. Alot of ebay sellers will program for free. Its just finding one with the radio you want. You should be able to get it programmed locally for around $20. | |
