| I agree, you will see him much better in a SXS than you EVER will on an ATV. If he is in front of you you will have the same view either way. If he is behind you you will see him better on a SXS with a mirror. We aren't as young as we once were, you wont be able to turn your head 180* unless you swing your leg over the seat. | |

| I have a Grizzly 550 with a JBS sheave and it is a blast to ride. Wayne National Forest is 40 minutes from me and much easier to ride there than 2 1/2 to 5 hours for West by God. I like riding both the Grizzly and the RZR S. My grizzly has the electric power steering and if that popo has it as an option or upgrade------------------DO IT ! | |

I'm kinda hurt , its seems you just called me old and fat ... Penny and I did ride with him on his electirc and me in the RZR , there was several times about hit him looking for him , I decided at that time that the RZR was fun but I want to give him the time like I did with Toby to learn to ride , if he takes to it great , if not then I will get what I want and ride .

| Common problems with Polaris 850 XPs are slop on the power steering unit after 600 to 700 miles (its actually an easy fix if you know what your doing). Oil in the airbox has been an issue too. A-arm bushings are crappy on some of em too. The first two are the most common problems you hear out of them. If you got the extra cash, I would get a 2012 or 2013 model as it has the updated 850 HO engine which has 7 more HP and the air box issue was fixed too. As far as speed goes (2012 & up), it is on par with a Can Am 800r, which is pretty darn nasty. I've rode a few 850s and it is by far the smoothest riding 4wheeler out there period and she's got a little pep in her step too. Its the perfect 4wheeler for WV terrain. I know some will disagree. | |

That was what I was looking for , I test rode a 850 motor and it has the power in the right places , its 2 up set that conserns me . One unit I found for sale has a Low range out and said it was a common problem . I would say that I honesly could do without powersteering . +7 Hp is not a issue for me the 850 all I would ever need . I hate that on the A arm bushings , its seems to be a Polaris issue that they don't think needs changing . Thanks for the info that I kinda what I was trying to find out about this model .

| Drew, I have a 2010 EPS 850 Touring and have had relatively few issues with it. I have 4,500 miles on it, it has been to Taylor Park, CO, MOAB, and the Paiute, the majority of the miles have been in the mud and water of WV.
Some of the early models had water in the airbox but they fixed that. There was apparently some issue with early model ball joints. And as bcf mentioned the steering slop in the steering.
With 4,500 miles I still have my original ball joints, tie rod ends, and wheel bearings. I have zero slop in my steering but I did do the fix that eliminates it.
I have changed bushings once and brake pads twice. The only parts issues I have had were when I fixed the steering slop I bought a new lower peice for $115 and my front prop shaft yoke wore the splines from lack of grease. I replace it for $70 and added 3 additional zerks. Mine has never been in the shop, I do the work myself.
I got the 2-up for the added stability and hill climbing, I don't like a light front end. I have never had the rear seat on mine.
The power steering is awesome.

Now for the important Question , what do you value yours at ( just the machine not any extra's ) .
