I know, right? I always liked the style of the rzr except for the top rake and now that's gone. They look great with a roof and full doors. The price will come down next year. I am waiting for one to show up at Pro Sports in Christiansburg. I live near there and go by it every day.

| I would guess that polaris had enough sense to realize that somebody was going to drag race their latest and greatest against the 900xp and was smart enough to make the 1000 faster. My guess is the 900 might not be as stock as they say. | |

| Watched the video and done my own investigation. Rzr 1000 in the video has what looks like a 260# driver, 900 has some chick that may go 120. The 1000 has 29" Bighorns that most likely measure 29 or 30" 900 has 27s that I bet measure a little short. Most likely a decent amount of weight diference in the tires also. The dry weight on the 1000 is 1379 and the 900 1204. 107 hp vs 88. I added the drivers guessed weight plus the weight of the machine, then done the hp to weight ratio and the 900 should win in acceleration. 1000 has 1 hp for every 15.3 lbs, and the 900 has 1 hp for every 15 lbs. That's what you got without considering the tire size. Anyone who has ever ran big tires on anything knows it takes more power to turn them no matter how you clutch it. Seems like they built a bad ass machine with big tires and a longer wheelbase, then added the power to make up for it. I bet if they swapped tires and drivers the 1000 would check out in a hurry. You guys are welcome. I didn't have anything else to do right after work tonight. I'm not saying I'm right about any of this. I am saying these are the reasons I think the 900 could win. | |

| yea hump you might be right.....who knows time will tell....when canned ham went from the commander and put out the maverick, it was a whole different animal. it was worth it for those(like tbone) who wanted a sport machine to sell out and get one.... even going from 800 rzr to a 900xp enough difference there to kinda justify it....the 900 vs 1000 in my eyes right now...not worth dropping 20k...now if u were moving up from an 800....maybe a lil different...not trash talking rhino but if you wanted to switch to a fullsport machine...might be worth it....( wont be as reliable as a rhino.....none of them are.....) sorry i am kinda rambling on...for us 900 guys and i guess i will say it.....maverick guys......n wait for it.......wildcat guys....i dont think there is enoug" meat on the bone" for spending another 20k( unless you have tbone's stash of cash) not trying to argue with anyone or pi$$ anyone off..sorry if i have and who knows once a few of them get out it might be totally different...that is the exciting part none of us know yet..... | |

I wouldnt see that as making anyone upset. I think those are very valid thoughts and is a great post. I personally think that we are seeing the top of the horsepower out of these things. I will say on my maverick, I cannot get the thing to hook up in wide open mode in the woods because it has so much horsepower. The 900 is a great machine and motor. Makes alot of power and is capable of much more. Heck it runs with that 1000. I just fully believe that upper horsepower class of the 1000 rzr, maverick, wildcat x, commander, and 900 xp, will have you in a very respectable comparable horsepower class. The rest are in a different lower class of horsepower. I wouldnt leave one of the above for a 1000 rzr. I dont think it has enough to outrun the others. |

| the 900 was also loaded. aftermarket cage, etc etc
with the extra weight of the 1k, its not gona be that much faster than a 900.
glad the hype is over. | |

| Some just want the most HP and the quickest in a drag race. What for I don't know or understand. More power is great if you can get it to the ground and can drive. Chances are, if you have a XP or rzr s and can't keep up with the pack at all, getting a 100+ hp wider machine is just going to get you hurt or killed if you are into the competition thing and have no skills. And from a competition standpoint, this video don't mean a thing anyway. Who gets to the other end of the subdivision the quickest doesn't mean shit in the woods. A good showdown of any of these would be timed laps on trails that people actually ride. Then you would see if it's worth it or not. The thought of spending 5 months at work to pay for one of these makes me want to puke. Even more so when I know that it may be a total POS in 3 yrs. The best machine is the one that suits you riding style and trails best, not the one with the most HP. Seems like I heard of a rzr 570 winning a gncc race a while back. Maybe it was just a dream, but I swear I think I heard that. | |

| The real benefits of this new 20k ride is ground clearance, big tires, and long travel. All things that will make this a serious offroad machine when the trail gets bad. XPs go better than anything I've ever seen, and I'm sure this will be even better, and have the added power to pull the big tires. If I were going to buy it, that's why. | |

Nope, not a dream, it happened." RZR 570 piloted by Cody Rahders beat bigger machines in the SxS Production 700 class"
