Labor day weekend

Who's riding Labor day weekend and where? I'm looking to ride with someone that Sunday and/or Monday. I know I will have to work late Friday night, so Saturday morning rides are out for me. I may even have to work Saturday and Sunday, but I'm betting I will be off.

Thought about hitting Bergoo Sunday. That is the day after the bash, so the crazy crowd will be mostly done and all the brush will be beat back real good after that huge poker run. If someone is serious about riding Bergoo with me let me know. If not, where and who am I riding with?

If I get my cv boot and spacers on by then I can ride Bergoo on Monday. Went to try out my new swamp lites last weekend and realized my tie rod end is rubbing and found a pin hole in a cv boot.

Spacers on.  I may try some black RTV on the pin hole in my CV boot to get me through the holiday weekend and fix it later.

One of these days I'm gonna pack up my game and head out west. In the meantime, I'm just hoping I get to ride at least one day. They are saying they only plan to let us have off Monday, but I think they are just trying to get us to work harder.

Going to HMTrails, Little Coal and maybe Ivy Branch and others South.

Heading up to WV on Friday afternoon/evening from Raleigh. Busco will be a zoo!
With any luck I'll be passing through Greensboro on the way up around 5pm.
We'll be up there Sat-Mon.

I am looking at doing a day trip. Wife is pregnant and I can't stay away all weekend. No fun for me. Lol

Saturday or Sunday? Looks like we'll be at Hilltop Escape and leaving each day late morning (10:30-11:30). Welcome to ride with us if those departure times works for you. It looks like several of us will be monitoring channel 3 if you have a UHF radio. I cannot count on Verizon to have any service there.

I have only in WV once and don't really know where any of the places are. I know where ashland is and I always started out where the guard rail is. Is that the hill top?

Take US52 North in Winston Salem to Mt. Airy (30 min).  In Mt. Airy take I-73/74 left over to I-77 North (15 min).  Take I-77 North to Wytheville (45 min) and stay on I-77 when it merges with I-81.  Take I-77 North toward Beckley and Charleston.  At the end of the second tunnel, Bluefield, WV Exit 1, be in the right lane and take the US-52 exit.  Turn right on US-52 towards Bluefield.  Stay on US-52 for 2 minutes and go right onto Hwy-460 towards Princeton.  Immediately get in the left lane and go left at the first light.  This will be US52S/Hwy19.  Follow this through Bluefield (4 miles) and turn left at the Hardees, then right and right across the bridge.  This is US-52.  At the third light turn right on Hwy-71 (10 min).  Follow Hwy-71  (3.2 miles) and turn left at Fire station and Neal Hardware.  Hwy-71 will curve sharply to the right, it is at this curve that you turn left across a little bridge.  Follow this road for about 7 miles (20 min).  This road will have two turn off’s to the right, stay to the left.  You will go up a set of switchbacks and at the top there will be a little store/building on the right, make a hard right (180°) up the road (Prosperity School Road) next to the store.  Stay to the right on this paved road for approximately 2 miles.  The road will curve to the right at “Black Dog Ranch”, go about 200 yds and turn left onto the gravel road, there should be a sign that says “Hilltop Escape”.  Follow this road .6 miles and you are there.

I believe he's talking about the guard rail at the stair steps. If you know how to get to Ashland you only have to turn 8n Prosperity School Road at top of Mtn above Ashland. This road is across from the end of Windmill Gap Rd at the white store in middle of switchback.

Keeter, remember your old buddy Mike while you all are celebrating Labor Day weekend fellowshipping and riding the wheelers all over the area.  As you know, I will be in your home state of NC in Cleveland County at the Shelby Hamfest doing the Ham Radio thing as another part of the hobby adventures.

BTW. the yellow springs should be on the RZR this morning.  Can't wait to see how it stands above the Terra-firma.  Then get some taller tires, wheel spacers or aftermarket rims with built in offsets ordered and on the way.  I'll be ready for the next ride hopefully...MD

we usually drink more than we ride, probly end up down at the tree if it's hot and dusty or maybe stay off the creek altogether :)
