| Well without any adjustment to the shocks it lost 1/2". That's a lot since I was already down almost 1 1/2" from sagging POS Yamaha shocks. But DAT ASS!!! | |

| The fronts are exactly 1/2" shorter than the factory. Just out of curiosity I weighed them all. The factory rears are 12.8lbs and the Fox are 9.8lbs. Both of the fronts weigh 7.6 lbs. So, that means I can haul 6 more pounds of beer and not hurt performance! LOL!!! | |

| Even though they were 1/2" shorter, the fronts ended up raising the front a 1/2"? (Yes I drove it and let them settle) | |

| I took it for a quick spin, it's late and I'm drunk, but initial ride said freak YEAH!!! Well the rear was 15" when I started but it had already been sagging almost 1 1/2". After adjusting the shock I'm right at 16 1/2" so it's right there. The front actually went up 1/2" with shorter shocks??? End result is, I was able to compensate for the rear sagging and measuring from the skid plate, the front sits 1/2" higher than the rear. It's not really noticeable and I may just leave it as is. The ride feels firmer than the factory, but it seams to absorb the bumps better at speed, does that make sense? It definitely rides better. | |

| OK, I went on Fox's web site and did some reading. They tell you to always run the front end 1/2" higher than the rear for better handling. So, I'm right on the money!!! | |

| Then it was time for the arm guards. After removing the factory plastic crap, I drilled out the two nuts welded to the arms to allow use of a more common 1/4" X 1" bolts, nuts and lock washers. I wasn't driving 15 min into town for some metric threaded bolts. | |

| Ok, this was the last mod I just did this weekend and you are up to speed on The Green Machine. I just crammed 8 months of mods into 4 pages!! HAHA! Harness time!!! I removed the factory seat belts from the driver and passenger seats. I left the factory middle seat belt. Only time anybody rides there is when we are hunting so I didn't feel a harness was necessary in that seat. I may change my mind later but for now just the two. For the crotch belt I notched the plastic and drilled a 1/2" hole in the cross brace. | |

| 1st, I need to say I'm sorry for not keeping up with the Green Machine build lately. 2nd, I love it! Rob, you have built one very nice ride.
As for the shocks, you have made an improvement if it's a little firm at slow speeds, but better the faster you go. As James has told me, Most of the time cranking them up will ride better at speed because they don't bottom out. If run them down to the point they ride like a Caddy over the really rough stuff when barely moving, then they will bottom out when the speeds pick up. Makes you think you need to soften them up more, when you really need to crank them up. A couple of psi in the tires will make a huge change in things also. | |
