| I started using TaxACt last year and like it. Those other two tax software can get pricey.
For $17.95, you e-file your federal + state tax returns with TaxACT Online. I was using TaxCut before but I like how accurate and cheap this is. Check it out, you dont pay until you are ready to file. | |

| We use H&R Block, It`s a little pricey but you get 5 free E Files and one free state download. If you can get some one you know to go in with you it`s not a bad price as long as you are from the same state. We got 5 folks to go in with us this year and it only cost us $8.00 and we will have are cash in 5 days. |

| I will also add that she said its very easy with any of the DIY software programs to really miss out on some deductions. Be sure to go step by step and pay attention and not leave out any details. She has seen some big $$$ mistakes by people trying to take a shortcut or not paying attention. | |

| Funny think about H&R is that the people doing the taxes there only have a few weeks training. You can sign up to take the training class and start preparing taxes as a "professional" in just a few weeks. | |

| We use the irs.gov site and sometimes file for free. I just pick the state I am from and see which one fits my income level and costs the least. usually Taxact or free taxusa. I drove to H+R block before and I get the same refund as at home filing myself. I can file at home anytime I want, if I get interrupted or have to find some paperwork I just save my return and come back to it whenever I can. When I am done I print it out and back it up to a disk, if I need to refer to it in the future. It usually takes about two hours to file. If you choose to file the next year at the same site most of your information is saved there so you don't have to reregister which saves a lot of time.
