who looks at the post...but does not reply

I am on here daily and I read nearly every post but I do not post in every thread. I think the turn out/members ratio is very good compared to many sites I visit. Actually EXCELLENT. You can try to get more people interested but in my opinion I think we have a great participation record here. There are many (more than you may realize) people who are lurking, reading posts and following but not taking part for many many reasons. Hopefully they will join in but if not I hope they keep following and feel welcome and maybe one day they will join. I would hate for us to go Jehovah Witness on them and start knocking on doors uninvited (sorry for any Jehovah Witness's I may offend by that comparison, LOL)

This forum is full of a great bunch of people and I can say I have NEVER had to modify one post or delete anything that was inappropriate. I doubt any of the other mods have either. That is unheard of on most open forums and that speaks VERY highly of our participating members.

I visit 4 other SXS forums and by far.......... I could'nt agree more on the quality and friendly humor of this group.

Oh, and thanks for cleaning out my radiator with the special tool you came up with. Nice job on that!

im on daily if not every 12hrs.
i think we have a great ratio of people that visit the site compaired to most other sites. there are a bunch that visit but do not post and thats ok. they know they can post anytime they have a ? or need anything.

and like neuromax said i have never had to edit any post other than fixing a few pics or deleting double post.

what it boils down to there is a bunch of over aged kids on this site and the rest of you are catching up with us .this sites can,t say any more and would,t change a thing ,members of this site are like family a bunch of jokeisters and why change when you'er haveing fun

after reading this my question is, what would you do if all 500 showed for the fall ride? I know what bobby d would do

It's pretty amazing to me that the moderators have never had to change a post for content. I agree it shows some there are many really good folks are on here. Thanks to all for letting us join the fun and making people feel welcome.

Well if we can just get everyone to watch the man behind them at every turn and intersection and not leave them behind we could do it but if not I don't won't no part of it because my hair is already gray enough

Ive been a part of many large groups, and the truth is to get over 10% to show up for anything is a lot. Now if you take a look at the member list probably over 200 never posted a single post, so those dont count, another 100 or more have not posted in many months so when you look at that 500 member number its really more like 200 that stop by and post now and then. So to get 63 to show up out of the ones that are active is a big number that equals about 30% and thats a huge number to attend any funtion. Its the same on most any of these forums, IMO bobby had a great turnout for the ride!

That is interesting.... I just looked down the member list and there are 329 members that have NEVER posted.

On most forums (this one included) thats the norm. People register and read but dont post for various reasons. I have done the same on many forums. When I am doing research on something (part, new machine, which TV to get etc) I read a lot of forums. I bet thats what most of those 329 are.

So out of 594, 329 have never posted which leaves us with 265 that have at least 1 post. Several that have posted but not what you would really call active but for the sake of math lets consider that half are 'active' members and 63 of them came to the spring ride.

That gives us a turn out of 48% which is an AWESOME turn out.

so we had a 48% turn out.....now I know the rest of the story...

now thats a math lesson
