I've got some new pictures I just posted tonight so you can check it for a few more if you'd like.
When I bought my Rhino, it had Terracross's on it. They hook up great and are reportedly lighter than Bighorns. Both are 26's that I've had and the 26 Bighorns are slightly bigger however very close.....could have been just a difference in wear.
Now one reason I wanted the Bighorns was they they are supposed to wear longer. With all of the road riding you have to do at times in WV, it seemed the Terracross's were wearing quickly. I have a theory that I borrowed from a friend that you can pull your tires at half life and sell them for a decent price and put that into a new set. I decided to run the Bighorns this time. Honesly, I only have one ride on them, so hard to tell much yet. I think the Terracross's may hook up a little better in a straight line but the the Bighorns may hold in a tight turn a little better. i do think I lost a little power with the added weight of the Bighorns. Bighorn are supposed to be tougher in the sidewall as well. The guy I bought it from did have a spare that had a sidewall plug in it but that can happen to any tire.
I don't think you could go wrong with either. I think there is a harder compound Terracross out now. If weight saving and more power is most important the Terracross's are a good choice. Time will tell on the Bighorns, but around here there are lots of folks running them and they appear to be tough and durable. The duners out West seem to run Terra's more for power and weight....not much danger of sidewall tears in the sand.....lol.
Hope that helps some.
Hope you can make it this weekend. I'll be at the KOA. Later, Matt
