| Just before I pulled up for my chance , I pulled on my differential lock lever and snapped the cable . Might have made it with all 4 tires pulling ? | |

Sadly , we only had about 10 children attend . We also only ended up with 8 drivers . The weather played a huge factor that Sunday . Pittsburgh was being pounded by rain and about 20 miles north in Grove City they had TORNADO whatches till 6:oo pm that evening . I had prayed for good weather for the ride and ( WE ) got good weather , but all around us it was nasty . Even some of the staff called at 8 am to ask if the ride was still on . I said , H*%LL YES , these machines are made for these muddy conditions ! ! ! Neadless to say , the kids LOVED the MUD . Could'nt blame the agencies , if I were in charge of a dozen kids , I would'nt have taken them with a forecast like that either . But , those that did attend already want to know when the next ride will be scheduled and want to help spread the word to more parents to assure them it was not only a BLAST for the kids , but VERY SAFE also .

Ok , let's try this . It's much easier when you have alot of pictures to post them this way I'm sure this will be come an annual event and will continue to grow.I think you could get the H/M trails involved in this for West Va and they could have one day that they have this event at each one of their trail systems.

That would be fantastic , but I assume someone would have to coordinate the event at that end . I could help someone with ideas of what seemed to work and what didn't . The guys ( STAFF ) up here want to do it again , so we're going to have brainstorming sessions before next summer and assign people to different parts of the event coordinating to lighten the planning load . All you have to remember is , it's all about the kids and any help is welcome to make it happen . Agencies shy away from the liability , so concentrate on contacting the parents of the children . Don't ask for RSVP's , some children have other health issues that don't allow them to plan in advance . It'a day to day thing . Weather can always screw up the best plans , so keep it as simple but SAFE as possible . It doesn't have to be fancy , these kids appreciate EVERYTHING ! ! Best of all , the kids will make you feel like their hero for the day when you see the BIG SMILE !
