I like the use of the jack stands, that's a great idea. There's alot of room for error just holding the string in your hand. I think I'll line mine up again now.

Today I had to fix my RZR before this weekend. I used a long 8 foot piece of metal. Put it against the left side and with the steering wheel, got it straight. Then went to the right side against the rear and front tire. You could see instantly it was toed out about a quarter of an inch. I brought it back in to right at a 16th of an inch and tightened her down.
Thats what we do with the race cars.....esp in a pit stop where we gotta fix it back.
I did find out as I did this today that a set of brake pads are in my near future! =)

The string method is also what we used at the Mercedes Benz dealership i worked at years ago exceptwe would raise the car on the lift so it was easy to get to and the lift had smaller built in jacks to get the tires off the ground.This way we could adjust the camber and caster as well if necessary.Eliminates all the chalk marks and measuring.
