| As some might know my RZR quit on me the last day of the fall ride. Here is a detailed log of the symptoms so if anyone else experience these same problems maybe it will help with the repairs. 1) Started noticing that it would not run well on the hard tops. seemed to take too long to get up to full speed, it would start out fine but mid range it would act as if something was clogged up. 2) It seemed to get worse after running my winch for a extended time pulling logs off of trails. 3) got it home and first checked the air filter, It was clean but replaced anyway, Next I changed the spark plugs, I then checked the ground wire for good contact, also checked to see if fuel was clean which it was. 4) I had also noticed that when runing with the headlights on it would pull my volts down so I checked all the wiring under the dash and cleaned all connections and reinstalled using dielectric grease. I thought I had checked everything so I was ready to ride the fall ride. First thing Sat morning when we got on the hard top I seen right away that I could not get up to speed but it would run ok otherwise. 5) That afternoon I removed the spark arrestor thinking that it may be clogged, after much work removing it no carbon was built up, But I left it out to see how it would run the next day Sunday morning I could tell things were getting worse because it would backfire each time I let off the gas plus it was starting to miss going up hill on the trails. As the day went on it would even die while going down the trail. 6) Finally after a trail break it would not start. Just acted as if it was getting no gas. Several people had already suggested that my fuel pump may be going bad causing the backfiring and it finally had quit totally. 7) After being pulled out of the woods to the hard top one of the guys unpluged the wire to the fuel pump and pluged it back in. It then cranked up but after running down the road I decided that it was still acting up so a buddy trailered it back to camp for me. 8) I have checked the fuel pressure and only getting 29 psi and should have 39 psi it also goes down to 24 psi when I throttle up before it climbs back to 29 I think it should remain a constant 39 psi. 9) Removed the fuel pump and the filter is clean so I will be getting a new fuel pump I'll let everyone know if this fixes the problem. In the mean time I will also pull every electrical connection and clean and apply dielectric grease. Read on another site that a Airtex E-8335 fuel pump will work for a frction of the cost and this is what I'm trying first. Sorry for such a long post but hope it helps someone else | |

| I even took it to the polaris dealer in logan and all the said was the air cleaner was dirty and it only had 57 miles on it ! I told them to change it because I want to rule out everything even had the ecu reflashed and that did not help ! SO KEEP ME POSTED ON THE FUEL PUMP AND WHICH ONE YOU USE ! we are going back on black friday and staying another 9 day so I have got to get it fixed | |

| Hope the fuel pump fixes it. If it does, let us know how that cheaper pump works out. It's BS that you have to get the whole tank from Polaris to get the pump. | |

| your Exhaust temp is like 800 Degrees right out of the block , so there is a good chance for it to glow , you might have a carbon build up . | |

| Good news I went down to advance auto this evening and they had the pump Airtex E-8335 in stock for 95.00. This is only the pump you have to take apart your pump assembly and install the new pump but it is not that difficult just pay close attention to how the wires are running. I took the pump assembly out yesterday and it only took me about an hour this evening to reassemble and reinstall in the tank. be carefull not to over tighten the bolts holding the assembly in the tank, tighten in a cross patern like a tire and DO NOT over tighten. Man I can not describe the difference it is like a brand new machine. Hell now I'm ready to race WV Hot Rod Rhino myself. I must have been slowly loosing power over the last year and just never realized how much until tonight. I got it out on the highway and reached 55 mph in less than a 1/4 mile and best of all when I let off the gas it was quiet no backfiring,no spitting back. Step on the gas and you had better hold on. I will be going online and buy me a spare pump to carry with me from now on. I'm also going to figure out how to install a fuel pressure guage so I will know when the pump is going bad next time. This was the easiest and most profound repair I have ever done to any ATV. Thanks to all that helped out with your suggestions it saved me a ton of money because I was ready to throw my hands up and put it in the shop and I would more than likly be waiting on it to get repaired for the next fall ride. | |

| Glad you got it fixed without taking it to the stealership. Thanks for the info on the pump and the symtoms leading up to the failure. Seems like a common problem on these, so the fuel press. guage is a great idea. | |

| Ok after futher review ..... the pump is for a 95 jeep cherokee with a 2.5 4cyl with fuel injection , there is two options from Advance Auto Parts choice #1 - the airtex E-8335 pump , 1 year warranty , 86.99 choice #2 - the bosch 69544 pump , limited lifetime warranty , 97.49 both choices you have to buy the filter/screen to get the warranty ! now Phifer choose the airtex pump so I went whit the bosch pump ( the pump that came out was a bosch ) so we can see if one is better than the other ! Now my feeling is that the alchol they are putting in the fuel is messing up the pumps , Im also going to cut the old pump apart and do some checking . I am also going to try to take pictures and post them if I can get me daughter to show me how again ! lol So stay tuned for more to come ...... hopefully !!! | |

I agree, we need a sticky on this or start another thread that has any parts you can get from a parts house and use on the RZR to save money | |
