| Ok I thought replacing the stock battery with an Odyssey 925L would be snap - not for me lol.
The problem is I had the dealer install the winch and prerunner lights and made the power cables barely long enough to reach the old battery (the did not charge me much for install since they did all that graphics, roof and more for 1 hour labor when i bought the RZR)
Normally I would hvae done it all myself but the deal was to good to pass up and I will take the easy way out if the deal is there. ok off track....
So I am wondering the best way to wire all this up and use the stock battery as a backup battery. I have 6 wires to connect and they are difficult to get to on the odyssey or stock battery. Should I use a busbar or waterproof fuse block? I know to run the batteries in parallel and was thinking of using a battery switch vs an isolator to keep the old battery from running down asnd remaining my backup battery.

| If it were me I would run a waterproof fuse block that way one wire from the battery is all you will need. If you have inline fuses already you can always put fuse in the block that is the correct size and change the inline fuse to one size up. That way if it blows you can just go right to the block and not have to trace wires. As for a switch to cut off the battery that would work or you could get an isolator so that both batteries are always charged but the second battery will not draw down with the first. :152:
If it matters I am going to do the same thing with the Rhino.

| This is what I got after reading the rhino forums http://www.ase-supply.com/product_p/sp-1314.htm
From my basic understanding; the isolators were the old way of doing this because you lose .5 volts where there is not voltage loss on the battery seperators. This causes an issue in charging both batteries to full power.
I am very new to all this and there are a gazillion opnions to all this, I just want something that is easy and effective. :158:

| just a thought years ago we used a 12volt horn relay going to second battery. It let juice in when to 2nd battery only when running and not pull off the hoist battery when motor was not running cost about $6.00 I would guess now it also came factory on the 72 chevy camper special back then | |
