| BEWARE GUYS & GALS -- ASHLAND CAMP GROUND, WINDMILL GAP & MAYBE ANOTHER PLACE WHERE HIT WITH THEIVES FRIDAY NIGHT. 3 MACHINES WHERE STOLEN OUT OF THE ASHLAND CAMPGROUND FRIDAY NIGHT & I AM HEARING 2 WHERE STOLEN UP AT WINDMILL GAP. I DIDN'T KNOW ANY OF THE PEOPLE THAT HAD THEIR MACHINE STOLEN, BUT I FEEL FOR THEM. I HATE THIS SO BAD FOR THE OWNERS. PEOPLE THAT DO THIS KIND OF THINGS HAVE NO LIFE & THEY WILL PAY DOWN THE ROAD IN THE LONG RUN. | |

| We were there this weekend with Sissy and Dewey. It was real upsetting for those poor people to wake up early Saturday morning with no RZR or 4-wheeler. Another SxS was stolen as well. Rick Said they had hit the other campground too. People like this I hope will get what they deserve! I had told the guy with the RZR to go on the SXS site and get with you guys cause he wanted some doors so you could get close to your 20.....Well poor guy... guess he won't be needing those doors right away. | |

| Daryl and I saw a really cool trick for trailers at the last RV show , and I guess it would be as good a time as any to get up a group buy .... This piece mounts under trailer and has about a 25ft heavy cable that locks back to the trailer . I know I have made the mistake of leaving my key in my machine before up there , so guess it time to act like we are in the hood and chain and lock everthing up . Will look for a link to the piece we saw ..... Ok , found this one on a quick search but it gives you a idea of how it works .... http://www.toyhaulermagazine.com/ToyLok.html | |

| We use these for the RZR's..... running it through the seats also.
It's hard to ride in the buggy w/o any seats.

| http://www.bikebone.com/ I usually don't lock ours because WE ALL spend a lot of money in the area. Why would anyone want to deter people from coming into Ashland and spend money at places that employ local people and stimulate the local economy? I guess its time for us to start locking things up. I hope the police catch the thieves and/or post some pictures of the vehicles so we can kick their asses. | |

| We were planning on heading to Ashland this weekend but may have to re-think that. Anyone know how they got the machines? Did they take trailers and all or just ride them away? Jim | |

| Jim, go on up. I am sure they will have security running more now. Just lock the bikes down at night. Don't let this one time event stop you. Its just a shame because before you could leave your bikes up there with the key in them and they would be fine. It wont stop any of us from going, just make us more aware. | |

| That's why we pay for insurance but I would not go because of one incident and it may never happen again.

| I would still go. This just happened because someone or someone's greed and non respect for the honest hard working people trying to have an enjoyable weekend. This could happen anywhere, including in a parkinglot at a restuarant. It is unfortunate for the owners , but thats why I carry insurance for theft and loss from accident. Ashland Resort is still my favorite destination. | |

I don't know if that would help much. The best defense is to make your machine harder to steal, and more of a risk to mess with. I mean even if they patroled the piss out of the place and stopped every machine leaving there all they gotta say is the machine is theirs and they are going for a ride. I always park mine close to where Im sleeping, and Mr. .45 is right by my side and ready to go. Chances are they won't strike there again for quite some time. The further the machine is from the camper, cabin, etc., and the darker it is, the easier it would be to swipe. And the fact that the roads are all down hill at Ashland would help them out because they don't have to push much, and can start it a long ways down the road if they start it at all. It could have been local druggies looking for something to get quick money for drugs, or at a big well known area like H&M it could have been more professional thieves that already have them parted out and on ebay and craigslist. Thieves can strike anywhere. | |

| I'm as guilty of this as anyone, but I've always held some, what would you call it - reservations, when I post where and when we will be, a list of machines that will be there, etc. It's almost like advertising for these punks. HEY - LOOK OVER HERE! I've been thinking about that downhill thing too. It sure would make it easier and less noisy. Are boobie traps illegal in WV? | |
