| OMG...this is not good! We pulled out about 8pm & saw the sxs sitting there on the point where they'd been all weekend . Several guys were standing around a big campfire @ the cabin straight across from the Bathhouse & Rick was making his rounds just like always. Things couldn't have looked any more normal! I sure hope they can find out who's doing this & gettum behind bars because Ashland Resort is just to good a deal going on for us to get a bad rap like this!! | |

| for them to steal one of these machines , simple most effective way would be pull the plug off the back of the switch and plug it into another and have control of lights and 4 wheel drive . My suggestion would be to make a block off plate for the switch ( eliminate the easy ) , cover for the starter solenoid and make it coustom ( they need this to crank the motor and power the motor Ignition . A shifter lock is ok , but the gear selector is right on the side of the motor and they mostly just need to go foward so a cover there that requires tools , pain for you yes but deters them from yours and on to the next machine . Another switch for the fuel , no fuel no go ( great thing is will probably crank and move a few feet before it shuts down giving you a chance to catch them, as ti loosess rail pressure . Battery cover and switch there ( not power , no go ) . My suggestion is Insure it , leave no real values on the machine ( like gun/wallet ) . | |

| I assume they are not cranking it to steal it. If they are stealing machines with keys left in them then that seems too easy... As always -- Insurance is a must. No reason to try to save that $150 a yr. | |

| Yea , that one is just too easy . but its not like you jump up when you hear a Machine crank up , if I heard a rzr in the shower I would assume it was someone eleses machine , not mine driving off . These guys know what to do , they are looking for particular machines , and there are more than just 1 or 2 of them becasue they are taking more than one machine . Sad to say but they have found a open meat market at ashland , and they are hungry . | |

| Bubba , best to not post , these guys are part of the this world , what ever you do to secure your machine you need to keep to your self . One suggestion I plan to make to Ashland is to put a steel post at each campsite that is concreted in the ground to chain too . This site is open to the public so what ever you post here is very easy to acess , sad to say but we tell them what we ride , what site we will be at , what options we have and the problems we have with our machines , we also tell them when we plan to ride and what site we will be partying at and when to meet , posting how we secure our machine is the last thing they need to know . Guess everyone needs to remember this is a open site , free to enter , very little security , 800 + members but only 100 active members on spring and fall rides , that leaves 700 people watching . | |

| I may have to call Dave this week and see what they plan to do.It won't keep me from staying there as long as my insurance is paid up and heck with 6,500 miles on my RZR I could use a new one Ashland may not be the only place machines are being stolen from either.I know locals have had them stolem from their property also.I'm sure they will catch who ever it is unless they stop soon. | |

| No machine is safe in this area. Way to much publicity. All the theives know they have a huge selection at just about any given time anywhere near H&M. It don't matter where you stay, unless you hit a motel in Beckley where cops are patrolling all the time. Insurance is a must on a sxs. Mine is $19 a month, and I sleep a hell of a lot better, and have way more fun on the trails than I did with my Grizzly and no insurance. | |

| Well if they are riding them out then a gate won't help because all they have to do is hit the trail and not the road out of the campground. You know it could be someone staying there that brings in a big empty enclosed trailer and steals them and rolls them up in there and once the door is shut you would never know that would be a pretty slick way to do it. | |

| i feel as though the theft problem might b easy to resolve put them back on trailer every nite and cable lock the wheeles frame to the trailer and locking the ramps in a up position wouldnt hurt neither | |

Funny Bobby. I was thinking the same thing. Wonder if the two weekends that there was thefts if any of the same people were there both weekends and if they had enclosed trailers. Another possibility the campground is on a hill..and it isn't hard to get a rzr into neutral and push it to the hilltop, paved or not and it will roll down way past the office and wash station and maybe half way to the road. very quiet way to do it and its out of sight for most of the campground. We locked all six of ours this weekend and had no issues. But we were 20 miles from Ashland.

| the are putting them in neutral and letting them roll down the hill , they think , the one stole were close to the top of the hill and they probally didnt have to push but less than 50 feet | |

It should @ least discourage them enough to look else where for easier prey. I think I'm going to add that on plus all the other stuff I'm doing like cable lock all the toys together & to the trailer along with hemming them up against the cabin or fence with the truck/trailer. You know it takes a awfully lot to get me worked up but let me tell ya I have no pity on any sorry lowlife thief. I hope they catchem & HANGEM HIGH !!!!! just like back in the days of old when they caught a horse thief.
