progressive rear shocks

gettin set to order rear progressive shocks.so i called progressive to check on spring rates hd or std. the little girl who said that i needed to talk to her. she was useless! she did tell me they changed the springs when they had all the complaints about the sag issue. to me it was just a sales pitch she had no technical data.so here is the question? everybody with rears on are you running hd. springs or std. i know airborne lt put epi springs on his. i do wish they had compresion adjustment the fronts are not as plush as i would like. just wanting some info on what everybody is running on the rear thanks folks! dan

Sorry I can't help you there. Randy R has the rear progressives and had the HD springs but still had the sagging issue so he put the EPI springs on them and it fixed the problem.

I have the progressives on the front of mine and its a very plush ride on the front. I put the EPI springs on my stock rear shocks and have no complaints, well one. I put the heavy duty EPI springs on and they are almost too stiff but MUCH better than stock. I should have gone with the standard rear EPI springs.

How do you have your fronts adjusted?

i only have the preload collars turned up 4 turns from the bottom. and my sag is at the top of the specs. preload collars won't change spring rate only ride height.spring is ok on the front its the valving is set to stiff. my neighbor has the stock ressi shocks and his still has a better ride. i'll give it alittle more time before i order the rears.and then i may yank the fronts and sell them.not sure yet. i still have the origanal box and paper work. if i'm going to spend 300 for shocks and then 100 for springs that kinda defeats the purpose. thanks for the info itsounding like if i order the rears to start with the hd springs.

opps my bad progressive shocks have progressive rate springs the tighter you crank up preload the stiffer they will get. i will check with epi to see if there springs are straight rate. very interesting.
