| Here is a picture of exactly what I bought 2005 Silverado 4x4 Crew Cab Z71 pkg Victory Red 5.3 motor This is not my actual truck just a picture of one I found that is identical to mine.I bought mine in Central Georgia and it is being shipped next week so when I get it I will post the real picture.Does anyone tow with a truck like this if so what are you towing a open trailer, enclosed trailer & what size etc.According to the specs it should tow 5,000 lbs and what kind of gas mileage are you getting empty & loaded from what I read the MPG rating is 15/19 empty. I used the money I got out of my 2001 Silverado and paid cash for this truck which covered my shipping & all the DMV fees so no payments

| Nice looking truck. I would think that it would tow more than 5k . My V6 Toyota would tow that much. I am pretty sure you could tow the toyhauler I own with that unit, defiently could tow one of the smaller version's of mine. Amen on the no payments. | |

I heard that too Mason and that guy is a dumb ass I have owned lot's of Fords and I'm not one that likes one better than the other.I would have loved to bought a 2004 or 2005 F-150 I really like the body style and I like the dash etc better than the Chevy but I read on the Ford truck Forums that there has been some issues on the 5.4 motors and the gas mileage is worse than the Chevy 5.3

| we have fords at work and chevys and the fords are always in the shop.the 5.4 is junk we have 5 of them that has already had to have new motors put in them with less than 75000 miles on the old motors and no the trucks are not abused they are drove on hardtop roads going in between schools on the main roads. they are now replaceing the trucks with chevys cause the chevys we have now have never had any trouble out of them. | |

| Nice truck Bobby! I'm all ford but will admit the 5.3 is one of the greatest motors on the road. Great color and great ride! Good luck and congrats! |

| Sounds like you came out pretty good on the whole deal. I think that truck will serve you well. It should tow an open trailer really well without sucking down to much gas. A friend of mine has a 03 and gets 15-17 mpg empty combined driving. | |

| I had a 2005 Tahoe with same drivetrain and basically same aerodynamics. It averaged 15.3 over the 60K miles I had it. I'd count on 15mpg averagesince my drive was 1/2 highway 1/2 local roads with few stoplights. WVProwler -- How many ounces in your gallon? Only way I can see 24mpg is if you have a 160oz or so gallon... My Dodge Ram 1500 with 5.7 Hemi averages 13.4 mpg hand calculated. Towing is between 6mpg (my toyhauler) and 12.5 mpg (my light small trailer with just an ATV). If I tow my 7x20 open trailer full of ATV's/SxS's I get 9mpg. These are real numbers hand calculated... | |

| i have went on a couple of trips and my dash said i was getting 24 mpg my truck figures out your mileage and shows it on my dash.then i figured it up on paper and it worked out the same. dodges suck gas no matter what kind it is .i have had alot friends that has had them and they suck on gas maileage.my truck right now has 105345 miles on it.and it is a 2003 chevy z71 offroad extended cab .you gasmailegae is also affected by the gear ratio that is in the truck.if it is a low gear you will use more gas if it is a high gear you will use less .i have 373 gears in mine that is a good gear it is not low but it is not high it is in the middle .it tows great with that gear to and when not towing anything it is a good running gear to.the gear ratio has alot to do with your gas mileage | |

| mine is a 2005 ram 1500 2 wheel drive with 85,000 on it. hemi with a super chip programer that i leave in the tow/haul mode, k&n filter charger and gibson cat back duals. sine i rarely use it for anything other than towing not sure what it gets without the trailer behind it, but with it down to beckley wv and back it averaged 9.6. yep, dodges suck gas. | |

| I was incorrect. My Tahoe was a 2004 Z71. Axle was a 3.73.... If it had gotten 24 hwt 17 city it would still be in my garage. My 2001 Jetta 1.8T average 21.... | |

I was not looking for a Red truck Actually Black would have been my first choice and a dark Green or Blue next.I was looking for the newest Crew Cab 4x4 truck I could buy with the cash I got out of my old truck and this Red one was it so the red will be fine.

| Bobby I have a 2011 Gmc with that motor and I pull my toy hauler with the Commander in it. That weighs about 4700 lbs. It pulls real good on the highway but we went to a farm in Herdon this weekend on top of the mountian and had to go to low range up the gravel road that was very steap...... | |

| i haul a 500 gallon water tank in my truck full of water from herndon quite regular and i come up herndon mtn as fast as i want to go .water weights 8.3 pounds per gallon.that makes it 4150lbs in the bed and it does great .when i haul water i get 14 to 15 miles per gallon .when i get my house i have very step hil to pull up to let the water empty out and i have never had to go to low range to pull up it.as a matter of fact i have never had to put my truck in low range for anything.i do use the tow haul when i am towing or hauling but dont even put it in 4wd unless it is snow on the road .
