| The motor was next or the list but these rock crawling trips are making me reconsider...SAFETY first.
The RZR is now darn near too tall to fit into the trailer even with the lift at the lowest setting. So the top definetly needs to be chopped. While I'm at it I'd figured I'd add some bars and make an exoskeleton for these crazy rock crawling trips. I ordered a 1-/4 tube bender and some .095 1.75" & 1.0" tubing. I've built a few race cars in my day so I have an idea or three. I plan to keep the stock cage and chop it down 4-5", add rear bars simliar to a S model, roof bars, hood bars, windshield bars, tool tabs, etc. I want to keep it modular in design so the rear and front sections can be unbolted for access and maintaince.
Here's were you guys come into play. I want ideas, thoughts, pictures, suggestions, etc as to what to include or incorporate into the cage. Figured maybe do a cage build topic with pictures as I go.... |

| i have not seen how a cage holds up that has been chopped the stock cage on mine stealth's bush and jerry's held up great they say the reason they left the rear bars off the S is when it rolls it keeps going with out the bars it stops but i like the bars back there myself |

| Mine is 5-1/2" on the orange S. 8" on the RZR4.
I love HIGH SPEED riding and slow crawling... It's the football and basketball size rocks that I can't stand hitting with any speed! | |

| Got the tubing in yesterday. I'm adding more bars than originally planned so I am reconsidering options. To minimize the weight I think I might switch to 4130. A 100-120lbs on a 50hp macine makes a difference. RHarrah - they are available from many places on the net. I'm going to take the clamps & tube connectors to my local fab guy and see about having some made. |
