| i have state farm and about 3 years ago my trailer was broken into and a KTM 250 and a YZ 250 was stolen and everything else in it. i cant figure out why they just didnt take the trailer and drive off. state farm has a replacement cost policy and that really saved my azz. other than the deductables, yes, multiply deductables, each bike had its own policy, the trailer had its own policy and the contents was covered under my home owners policy. no hassles, no dragging their feet. waited 30 days to see if anything was recoverd per the policy, day 31 they mailed me a check. i did have to chase down alot of replacement costs prices and fortunately i keep receipts and had lots of photos. STATE FARM was EXCELLENT. | |

| I don't have mine insured (it's paid for) but I have thought about it. I'm sure the cost varies depending on the policy and what is actually covered, but does insurance usually cover anything other than theft or fire? Does insurance cover damage one might incur while riding? | |

Thanks! I'll compare Progressive with State Farm (insures everything else for me) and get some - sounds like it is worth it.

| I would say you are better off to just call up your ins agent that has the rest of your autos and add it on. I don't know how much mine is on the rzr without looking, but it's in the low teens per month. I have a $500 deductable, but it's replacement cost plus accesories. No need to pay for six months up front or anything like that. I got one bill each month for all 4 vehicles insured.
No matter how you go about it, just get it.

i have dairyland with replacement cost and medical if me and passenger get hurt and 2000 accessories 450 a year. all other places was around 1000$ yr
they replaced my first rzr after i crashed it. paid me more for it than what i paid for it new + accessories. best money i ever spent one the rzr. would not leave the dealer without it much less hit the trails. |

In WV...if you ride a UTV on a public road you have to be at least 16 years old with a valid drivers license and liability insurance...and have that orange triangle on the back of your utv...

Thanks, Bubba! I didn't know that, and as they say, ignorance of the law is no excuse. That settles it - getting insurance today!

| Its better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.
I have paid for it for years and still have not had a claim....knock on wood. |

I have paid for it for years and still have not had a claim....knock on wood. For sure! Plus, the last thing I need is to get into trouble with the loacal (WV) constables for something as stupid as riding on the road without the required insurance.

I asked the same question a few months ago, I wasnt worried about what happen to it by me driving, but the point about it being stolen, hit by someone else or your trailer blowing a tire while toeing it and it flips and grinds it to pieces made me call that day and get it... I have progressive through USAA and just added to my Motorcycle policy, $285 a yr, w/200 deductable.

| When I was at wv hot rod rhinos place we were on our way back and went down a 4 lane highway. Well there was a car in the slow lane I come up on so I decided to pass them. As I went by thy just stared. We were on our way back and once u get close to his place you have to go down that highway. It was a 60mph zone. That car was doing 65. I was doing 72 cruising so I just went on.
One time I went from Ashland to welch down 55 and was running about 80. We were in a hurry do get to welch to catch up with the group |

| I dont act crazy when I am on the road! lol That night at Hot Rods I was freezing my butt off. I was in a hurry to get back. That day headed to Welch I was in a hurry to catch up and I didnt really see any traffic on the road. So I opened her up a little bit. I have no idea how fast that Can Am will go. At Busco it got up to 85 before I lifted and ran out of room. I figure 85 was fast enough for me on a WV Trail. Usually I am just taking it easy and cruising! Every once in a while you need Warp drive though! |
