[solved]660 rhino was for sale

I have a. 2005 660 rhino with a Jbs sheave and ods. 27"mudlites CD player rm stator cdi.
Has 1700 miles. And a 1993 wrangler that i built. It has a 1998 4.0 ho 5 spd with 4.11 gears. Wanting to trade both for a 800 rzr that's ready to ride
I can text or email pics if anybody is interested in doing some trading

I may know some one who may ( MAY ) be interested in a blown Rhino

I was running castrol gtx 20w50. I ran this oil for a long time in bikes and 4 Wheelers. I been noticing a little more noise than usual but i though it was the greaseless ods that i just put in it along with the sheave that i got from HRR. Boy was i wrong! I junk the crank and lower rod bearing.
Piston was hitting the head from all the slop in the rod. Oh well gives me an excuse to put a 691 stroker crank in it and port and Polish the head.

Only 1700 miles! That just don't sound right! I hope the FO-Fiddy last longer than that. Not really sure how many miles mine has but I would be willing to beat it's close to 2000 to 2500. Amsoil 5w-40!!!!

Yea IM not sure y it let go. But I've only had this thing about a month or so but it's hard to tell how it was treated before i bought it. I was pretty clean so i thought there wasn't any issue with abuse in mud and high water.

Dang...sorry to hear that....the 660 is a fine motor...

here's ya pic of a gutted 660 motor. Now to come up with 500$ extra just to make her run again.

upgrade the middle drive gear and mount while your into it.

Gotta have a crank. The lower rod bearing is completely gone. The piston was actually hitting the head and it still ran. LOL plus i found the retainer nut on the middle gear is only finger tight. Also the balance shaft was a tooth out of time from the factory.

So what happened here. Was it due to bolts backing out? I have a friend who needs the middle gear fixed in his rhino because the bolts back out of the bearing mount. Can't. Wait to split the case on that one too LOL

It did do some damage....

i guess the teeth was weak or somthing. the mount was ok on mine. i just put new drivegears in it. and i done it without splitting the cases.

I dont know if i would chance changing the gears with splitting the case. because all the teeth broke off the gears are still in the motor some where. plus its not a hard job just time consuming lol i gotta get mine back together first.

well the rhino has a power plant. 697cc stroker. this thing will haul some ass now

put in a new 691 hotrod stroker crank, and bored it .020 over. along with one of HRR's sheaves and the multi spark cdi i already had. all i can say is wow you wouldnt believe the difference.
