| Ok guys I am new to the forum, I have a 2007 Polaris sportsman 700 efi I love it. My dad has recently purchased a browning edition Polaris ranger 800, I have rode it and love it and everything about it. I'm a bigger guy though (6"2 tall and 300lbs) but I'd like something a little bit more sporty and it will be used for utility as well. So here is the big question, do I get a rzr xp 900 or can am commander xt 1000? The commander seems to come with more features then the rzr and has a cooler interior with a way better utilization of storage(which I love) but I was a born and raised Polaris man and feel like I'm cheating on them to even be considering a can am. The rzr does seem a little more capable off road then the commander, I have watched tons of YouTube videos and the rzr just seems so smooth and better balanced then the commander. I don't want to get a commander and not be able to keep up with a rzr. I will use it for hunting, farm work, play, ect. The rzr seems a little tight in the cab as far as space goes but the commander isn't a whole lot greater in my opinion either. So coming from people that own them both or have driven them both what should I get and positives/negatives over each other please. All inputs will be extremely helpful. | |

| Tons more storage and utility with the Can-Am. I've never drove one, but they are nice. I have drove a XP, and I can tell you they are amazing. Very quick, great suspension, and there is no comparison to a rzr or rzr s. The rzr will have the better 4x4 system, the front diff works very well with both front wheels pulling even when one is in the air. From what I've seen on video, the Commander will go almost as well if you keep the throttle down so the front diff will lock up to provide traction. Capabillity=rzr Utility, storage, looks, and great interior= Commander with your decision, and | |

| Yamabeast said it ---- If you want sport & very little utility, go with the XP If you want utility & some sport, go with the Commander Either way, the power from both is impressive | |

| I drove a XP last week end. It was simply put-unbelivable!!! The fellow who owned it said that he could drink a canned drink while driveing down the trail, AND he drove every foot like he had just stolen the thing from some body that had a very very large gun. I thought to myself, just how much of that drink are you wearing instead of drinking?? Well, after a very short test run, I didn't have to tense up to save the pain in my back, as that durn thing was like rideing in a great big caddy going down a new black top hiway!!!!! Sure wish I could afford one. | |

| The commander will murder an rzr and rzr s. the xp is close. The commander hauls tons more and the Polaris won't.
Just go drive both and make your decision. Either one are fast and good machines |

| I agree with these guys. If your gonna be using it more for hauling or utility. Go with the Can am . If your gonna use it more for sport riding go with the xp. They both will haul ass though. | |

| Seriously......just take your time and drive both. The rzr is geared for 100% recreational user. The commander is a mix of both. I own both and like them both. I feel that can am builds a better machine it's it's ten times more comfy than and rzr. Just got sit in them and see. Plus the commander feels like your driving a race car. I'm not saying Polaris is bad. They build a great machine. You can look at both and see the can am has a better quality about it. I would get the commander x over the xt so you get fox shocks. They are worth their money on any machine. Another big point to make is the can am holds more fuel and gets better mileage. My Polaris has to carry extra fuel or it isn't makin it back. That hurts the already limited storage. U can ride 2 days on the can am. That's a great plus to me. If you have any questions then call me or pm me! I always here to help.
Bottom line though and Trying to stay non biased......go see both. Drive them and buy what u like. |

| The XP is faster. But way you described your needs. The Commander is the machine for you. With $2000 it will be faster than the XP and it hauls everything you need. With you being a big guy, just go sit in both and that will make up your mind..... | |

| Being 350 LBS and 6' 1" , the RZR is a tight fit stock , but had the chance to drive a rzr S with doors and made a HUGE differnce .... XP being the same inside as the LE version and the S model I can only say for me the Door would make the diffence . I sat in Tbones Commander and was impressed , it is comfortable , you would need to drive both if you are all legs at 6'2" then the rzr is going to be a tight fit , I had plenty of leg room in the Commander. | |

| Before I bought my commander I test drove both. The big decision was space. I'm 6'3" 275 and the commander was the only way to go. | |

Its not ALOT faster but it is a little bit quicker because the XP is 400 pounds lighter. A Rotax motor is known for power. On the top end they do the same. Out of the hole the XP has it. If the commander was 400 pounds lighter the XP wouldnt be a factor. |

| If you work the machine and trail ride the machine, I don't think that I would let speed be a factor in my decision....I very seldom hit max speed on my regular RZR...unless I'm on the road I usually run about 5-30mph... | |
