Subject: RZR 570 review November 15th 2011, 12:46 pm
I found this video on the 570 and thought it showed the machine really well. I know the rumors is the 800 is done and gone. I am just wondering if thats true. If it is I bet people will buy up the 800 rzr s's before a 570 RZR S comes out. Anyways looks like a good performing engine. I just hope this doesnt mean the 800 is gone.

The 800 engine is old school technology ( overhead valve, pushrod). I would like to see the 800 get updated to a more modern design and push it up to an actual 800cc, not just 760. Replacing it with a Single cylinder engine just sounds kind of wimpy, even though these new ProStar motors are pretty nasty from what I hear. I just can't see the 800 getting eliminated from the RZR lineup. The aftermarket vendors would hate it because they make so much stuff for that engine. Yeah the 800 could stand to use about 10 to 15 more HP, and its not the greatest engine ever made, but its part of the puzzle that made the RZR so great!

This 800 motor has been around long enough , I see it becoming a staple in the ranger ( it shines there ) .... There is always the 850 motor in the Sportsman if they do not have another middle motor , I don't see them having a 570 then a 900 ...

I'm not sure if I'm right on this one, but using the 850 motor would require some significant modifications to the rear frame. I know the 850 is a powerhouse of a motor and would probably be the ideal engine for a 50" and a S RZR. I rode an 850 sportsman a few years ago and it was a screamer as compared to an 800. The new 2012 850 sportsmans now have 77 HP, which is 6 more than a Can Am 800r.
