| I left the house this morning at 6:00am made a breakfast stop and went to Barry's house we were loaded and on the road at 7:00am went to the dealer in Princeton to p/u Barry's RZR from service let's just say things didn't go as planned.Anyways after some delays and a trip out of our way to Lowes we headed out to ride the Wagon Wheel by the time we got his RZR back together (don't ask) We were finally ready to ride at 1:00pm Nick I'm glad you had to back out today because of the delays I would have hated for you to have waited around to 1:00pm to ride.I wanted to explore an alternate route around a real bad spot on a nice trail I don't get use much because of the bad spot and as I guessed I figured it out :D.We rode over 30 miles before we ran up on any other riders. We ate about 3:15pm at the wheel then headed down the creeks and found a trail we had fixed back in the summer and it was getting real bad again so we got out the chainsaw and cut about a 30' to 40' new trail around the swamp as you will see in the pictures it's where my RZR was against the tree in one picture and a few others it was close to rolling over .met some SXS riders from Charlottesville,Va so we had them test the new trail with a Rhino and a RZR :120: The new trail around the swamp will be great for riders that don't have a lot of experience and familys with kids on quads because it was getting to be a dangerous spot. For those of you that ride the creek trail a lot you will reconize the area by the pictures so I will be setting up a donation box by the honor system and every time you use the new route just stick a $1.00 in the box each time you go through and on you way back through like a toll road Just kidding anyways we rode to the view in the rain and arrived at dawn the wind was blowing like crazy.Left the view and headed back and arrived back at the truck at 7:00pm with 55 miles in not bad for a half day of riding and cutting a new trail eating luch and talking to other sxs riders. We cleaned up and loaded up headed to Princeton and ate some dinner then headed for Barry's house got back there at 10:00 I loaded up my RZR and got home at 10:30 pm it was a long day. Here are the pictures http://www.flickr.com/photos/rdd8/sets/72157613801768733/ it's not my usual number of pictures  but there were not many riders out today to take pictures of Hope you liked my story I'm tired of typing now look for 2 good videos to be ready for viewing on here tomorrow ;)

| That picture 15 and 16 make that little spot look harder than it is. A bypass would be nice there though since I've seen plenty of people have issues. I know that the direction you are going you can go through the mudhole and it's OK -- going the opposite direction is an issue since it has a 18" or so ledge. | |

Yes it's not that bad for us who ride a lot but for others I'm sure they get ...lol When it warms up and my boy's start riding again on their quads I wanted to have a nice easy way around that area for them it takes some stress off of me when they ride :69: and it will also help other kids & women & Chris C etc:Just kidding Cris. One thing is for sure it was only getting worse | |

| yeah I know of the spot in the pic. The long mud hole to the right of your bikes (as your sitting in them) is very deep. Went over the hood of my rhino on thanksgiving of 08. It was dark and I was going slow thru it and then I slid into the ruts and went from tire deep to hood deep right now. Puckered the butt hole alittle! In the middle there was water standing where you guys were but was not very deep and that is where the other guys and I ended up getting across. Not a good place to come across in the middle of the nite and you've never been thru it before or for the faint of heart. That trail had a lot of mud holes in it. One of our guys had his Grizzy break thru the ice and had to be winched out that nite just alittle ways past that hole. In the dark everything is harder to judge which always makes it more fun! | |
