| Hello everyone, hope every one is geared up and ready to enjoy the Holiday spirit as much as you can, that has come upon us once again. I enjoy this time of year every year and always have for as long as i can remember being alive. But to me it sometimes seems that the true meaning of christmas is sometimes forgotten in this current crazy world we live in. I'm not gonna take this topic and start off into a rant about what christmas is all about because the Man and Woman who gave birth to me instilled in me what christmas is about not only for adults but kids as well. And i also believe that all of us involved in this wonderful club feel the same in each and everyones own way. And even though an adults realization of christmas as compared to a kids may be different, they are both equally important in our society as we all know it.
So while not trying to sound like an adult with a kids christmas wish and to want more than i deserve, i would like to make the following request for christmas if you guys and gals don't mind.
I was told today that my mother's cancer has spread unexpectedly. And because of the rareness of it, they have no answers for continued treatment other than to continue to treat it with chemo for ovarian cancer as they have been. The Doc said he would be guessing as to what to do next. Many doctors have confirmed this rare type at places i have taken her. I now am waiting on a call for an appt. at Duke University for a last chance effort to kill this thing. I'm asking that for a few seconds somewhere throughout the holidays that you say her name to yourself and hope that a doctor makes the right guess. I strongly believe in the power of the mind and know there is alot of power in this club. Her name is Deborah Harrah. And i love her with all my heart and will continue to carry her in my arms.
My mother's sister who lives with her and is mentally challenged, was diagnosed in 2008 with the common type of ovarian cancer and had a large tumor removed, then was treated for a year. since then everything had been fine. Today i was also informed that her cancer was active again and had spread. I'm waiting on a phone call to see what direction we are heading with that. Please, just take a couple of seconds of your time and say her name also at some point throughout the holiday season. Her name is Rebecca Bartrum. She is 57 years old and is one of Gods special children.
I have a step-brother who is as close as a brother to me that is currently with his wife at W.V.U. Hospital. They had a new baby girl two weeks ago that is struggling for her life to live. She was 7 weeks premature and confirmed downs syndrome. She is also scheduled to have open heart surgery as soon as she can get strong enough. She is on oxygen and being tube fed. She is fighting as hard as she can. Please include her name also. Her name is Josie Thomas.
I really don't mean to bring such personal matters to the fore front my friends, but i feel that i need more power behind my mom, her sister, and my little Josie. What better place to find that power than amongst all you gear head, piston thumpers on this site. It will only take a few seconds of your time for the powers of the minds here to somehow strike a tune that works and helps the fight against these sicknesses.
I never dreamed in a million years that so much could go wrong at one time. But it has and i will be by their side for the fight. EVERY Step of the way.
My entire family wishes all of you a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS and a HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!! And i personally would be indebted to all of you for any mental or spiritual type of help i can get. Thank-you sincerely,
Kevin Harrah | |

| My daughter and I just said a prayer for Deborah, Rebecca, and Josie and will continue to do so. It's not always easy to open up and ask for help - thanks for thinking enough of us motley lot to ask. I'm honored. | |

| I have already lost both of my parents to Cancer. My mother died 15 years ago this month at 54 years old and my Dad passed away 2 years ago at age 66 so I know what you are going through. My mother was paralyzed the last 15 months she lived from a tumor on her spine and my Dad was bed fast a good while before he died.I remember my Dad would always say there are worse things than dying which I believe too.As long as you know in your heart where you are going when you take that last breath there is nothing to be afraid of.
Prayers sent for your family Kevin. | |
