the comanders are pigs on the scales too, so they need the extra hp. the polaris 900 is only like 860-880cc are the comanders a true 1000cc?

No but they are bigger than the poop machine. The Rita's will run. I'm not talking about machines though. Just the motors.

need to try and find crank dyno numbers them. cause running them on a wheel dyno is just racing clutches and belts.
friend of mine is sponsored by racer tech and races his xp in gncc and rally raids.
his motor guy said the xp motor thats rated at 88 crank hp hes not had one make under 90hp. and has had some make 94-95 hp.
i havent looked, nor asked, but id like to see what the actuall cc is and the real world crank hp of all the diffrent side by side motors. wildcats, comanders and all

That's not too bad at the wheels. Driveline generally takes out about 20%. It's a good gauge on what hits the road. As long as you use the same dyno, it gives you a good idea on if the $ you spent was worth the gains.
Only other way to gauge it very well is at the drag strip. Weight of course is a big factor there.

61 is not bad at the wheels. I think sxs numbers are advertised as crank HP just like cars/trucks. If you take a new 300hp car with an automatic, and put it on a chassis dyno, you will go home crying. What you put to the ground, and the weight of the machine is what matters.
