| TRIED TO START MY RZR THE OTHER DAY AND IT WOULD NOT START THE STARTER WAS TURNING BUT NOTHING HAPPENED. SO OFF TO THE SHOP MECHANIC TOOK STARTER OFF AND SAID IT IS THE BENDIX WHICH IS ENCASED IN THE MOTOR. MEANING MOTOR HAS TO COME COMPLETELY OUT . MAN I WAS SUPPRISED AT THAT THOUGHT COULD JUST TAKE STARTER OFF AND CHANGE IT. | |

| all the bendixes i know of are on the starter it sounds like the ring gear on the fly wheel is bad the starter drive engages the ring gear on the flywheel thats what turns the engine over then when u let off the switch starter disengages | |

| I bet it's just the starter. That's where the bendix is at. If it were the teeth on the flywheel, I would think that you would have had alot of grinding for a long time while trying to start it. Did he have the starter completely off? | |
