| I was thinking about chopping my cage down some on my RZR. I have never done this and have been perfectly fine with the height.
Either way I was wondering why people do it. Whats the advantage? Is is unsafe? Is there a standard for what you should drop the top?
I have talked to a few people about it and got their opinions and now I would like to see what you guys think about it. |

| Its a look , there is no function to it , I could see it adding strength if you added bars to the front ( the v section in the front ) and X'ing out the top . | |

| I personally like the chopped look much better than stock, just can't justify the cost. | |

| The only reason i havent chopped either of mine is because that added space above my head is where my two speakers are mounted in my homemade box | |

| For $800, I would buy a new cage!! Then switch them out before you sell the rzr | |

| T-Bone, I know several people that do it for $400. Thats how much mine was! For me, I can't stand the high angle of the stock roof, but I will say there has been a couple circumstances to where I have gotten under things that where my buds a couple of us had to stand on their machine.
But really, its just about what you like!
I took 6" out my S. On the 4 seater we took out 8 in the rear and 6 in the middle. | |

| I chopped mine 6", first time, for the looks. Kept the same height on the new cage but made it wider and stronger. Wear a harness and/or a helmet or you'll knock yourself out at a 6" drop. | |
