| The price is high, but not as bad as I thought it would be. I was thinking in the $19K range. $15K for the base model is an eye opener for me. | |

| Nice but the first with a catalytic converter. I definitely do not care for that. Remove it and you will be staring at acheck engine light. Also I really really hope they dealt with the heat -- that adds a level of heat that adds many issues.
I love Can-am's but I would not be the guinea pig on this one. Drop the Cat and add EPS and then it could be a winner.
I've watched the hp wars and know that they mean little. The weaker 800 Outlander is quicker than the 7hp stronger reated 800R. Besides -- put someone like Simoniz in a 500cc and he will outrun 95% of riders in a 1000cc.

Again, NO THANKS. This thing is sounding like a fast go nowhere Obama sxs. Man, this thing is starting to sound like a turd.

| The usual from Can Am, next year it will have power steering and qe, I figure we will see catalytic converters on all new releases as the government puts their paws on things, but with the cats you get O2 sensors and closed loop, so hopefully it will be easier to piggyback the ecu and get bigger HP | |

| After riding my commander for 18 months here's my take on the new maverick as compared to it.
Pluses: More power 30% more ground clearance 40% more suspension travel It has the same interior so most of my extras will swap over. I think all but the windshield They raised the exhaust
Minuses: No QE front diff. You could add your own but it should come stock with it. It would be interesting to see how far 101hp can sling mud when your stuck in a hole. No power steering That mid engine is good but the heat sucks and it fogs up your windshield everything you go through water when it's cold Limited storage. I'm sure you'd get by but I need space for all the crap I haul. Oh and I almost forgot. Those bighorn 2.0's. Not the best tire
Verdict. Why would I go out and buy a machine that is less capable than the one I have for how I ride? I wont. At least not this years models

| Just talked to a dealer today that attended the dealer show. As much as I would like to love the new Maverick he told me some disturbing news.
1) Yes, in a straight line it is a rocketship, but, it will not handle! 2) The new Mavericks that were there kept over-heating on the 5 mile test loop. 3) Some of the ones tested were equipped with power steering, but, during aggressive driving the pump would heat up and the system would shut down!
This came straight from the horses mouth, from a dealer who has actually driven the new Maverick. Anyone else know of someone who has driven one? It would interesting to have some more input.

| I know someone that attended the sand show, and nobody there got to drive one. I don't know if they had a dealer show or not, the only place I know they've run it is at the dunes in Oregon and the used a couple of the can am race team drivers. | |

| Sounds like bad news to me. I'm sure the 5 mile test loop don't hold a candle to the trails of WV and the way most people here ride. I'm sure I've said it somewhere before...Why don't they test their stuff in WV wide open hauling ass and beat it to death. Then they will no what they have before production. I'm not talking about a H&M green trail durring a dry day, I'm talking real world testing.
I'm gonna have to go to low range to tow someone with the no horsepower 450. Good news is it's a whole lot faster in low range with the JBS sheave.

| I have a deposit down on the maverick xrs, hopefully it lives up to the hype canam is putting out. I'll be able to compare it to rzr s and rzr xp. My riding group consist of a 1000 commander, wildcat, rzrxp. I can see some 4 wide drag videos from a go pro when this thing comes in | |
