| I vote for don't even go. I wouldn't plan on crossing any of those creeks in the Wagon Wheel area after this starts, because I thought they were pretty deep last weekend compared to past rides I've been on down there. I know they are saying 1-2 feet of wet snow above 2500 ft, and that's definately where I live. I got extra gas, and the rhino is getting the snow blade hitched up in the morning. Snow is nothing though, it's the rain and wind that is gonna be bad. Trails are gonna need cleared after this one for sure.
Stock up on beer now! | |

| The rain started here on Friday mid morning and it is still raining. The wind started to pick up mid day yesterday. The wind is a steady 40 out of the northeast but is starting to shift to more north, gusts to the 50's. Sandy is still south of us so a few more days it will be clean up time!! | |

Thanks for the update. It's drizzled here for days. Starting to increase now - no wind yet. | |

| With the focus on the NY and Jersey shore it's easy to forget about rural WV.
http://www.post-gazette.com/stories/local/region/snow-continues-to-bury-wva-660310/
I heard yesterday that the Amish have sent chain saw teams to the Terra Alta area. Also, coal companies are sending operators and earth moving equipment to help snow removal in the northern mountains.

| News from Webster and Nicholas counties in WV. Two gas stations, a grocery store, and a Rite Aid all had their roofs cave in from the weight of the snow. Several house roofs also, along with alot of garages caving in on vehicles. I headed to work Monday thinking the inlaws would use the rhino to keep up with the storm like I told them. It was full of gas, with an extra 10 gallon for it, blade was on and ready to go. What did they do? Sat on their azzes until the tv wouldn't work anymore then looked out and said "that rhino won't plow that, it's to deep now" Now they are complaining about having to shovel. I got a brand new shovel in the truck. I'm gonna need it when I get home. Moral of the story is. Life is good, everyone is warm, safe, and they have food and water. However, never try to teach a pig to sing. It will waste your time and annoy the pig. You can't help people who refuse to help themselves. | |
