| Has anyone ever ridden the Little Coal River trails? I am wanting to take the family down this summer and stay in that area so we can visit the water park also. Wondered if I would be bored on those trails after the first day. Are there any connector trails off of the Little Coal system? Thanks. | |

| Been a couple years since I've been there but you can cover it all easily in a day,but it's a good system for taking the family, very easy. There is a couple of tuff trails but nothing like Rockhouse or some of the other systems. As far as I know there isn't any connector trails but never really looked for any either.

| Little Coal is a good family trail. Great for all! There is no connector, however, they are suppose to open up a new trail system just a few miles away sometime this summer, so that might be another option of riding while you are there, if it is open by the time you come. There are a couple of places to stay that are connected to Little Coal. Don't remember the names off hand, but I think they are shown on the trailsheaven.com website. | |

| Thanks guys. I did check it out on the website and there are no connectors right now. I found a couple of campgrounds. Looks like a good place to try as a family vacation. I would love to take a day and head on down to Rock House though. Thanks for the info! | |

| Several of us from TTB are riding there at the end of March. We are staying at Big Earl's campground in some nice Amish cabins. Katheryn's cabin is also nearby.
The Hatfield Ivy Branch trail system is opening this July and it is supposedly only a few miles from LCR. We are riding that too as well as East Lynn which is near by.
Hannah, at Big Earl's, called the HM people and they said that Ivy Branch was basically done and the only problem with us riding it in July was there would be no rangers patrolling it, what a shame. It will be like riding Pocahontas before it was open.
LCR only has about 40 miles of trails.

| Thanks Bob. How far is it to East Lynn? It will probably be July or August before we make it down, so I feel better knowing Ivy Branch will be rideable by then. | |

| Little coal is nice, but a little too short. Personally I think RockHouse is the best out of all of em. But you got to be very cautious because theres a lot of steep drop offs along side of the trails. | |

| We stayed at the campground right across the highway from the road the trailhead is on. They had a trail that left the campground, went under the bridge that crossed the creek and then that put you on the road to the trailhead. We stayed there in the middle of the week, had the whole place to ourselves!! | |

LCR only has about 40 miles of trails. Katheryn's had a really good room rate promotion recently. May want to check it out to see if booking early applies.

| I live about 2 miles from Ivy, was real excited to be able to ride here when I bought my house a few months ago. Kinda sad to lose it HM. I do ride HM, but it was nice to have somewhere that isn't out for the whole world to ride. I'd love to know some other way to trails around Ivy that they haven't blocked off. | |

| I and others will be riding Ivy, LCR, and East Lynn at the end of this month. I have recently heard that a lot of LCR trails are closed due to logging. Ivy and LCR are only a few hundred yards apart with the creek and Hwy 119 between them. HM site said they are going to build a bridge between the two, probably where the creek goes under the road and loops back. I have also heard that EL has a lot of trees down from the storms last fall. I have tracks for all three and will verify as many as I can later this month. I do have the Ivy trailhead location but it is not available at the moment. | |
