| Welp today i pulled the bed off my 09 rzr to change the spark plugs...figured it had beenusing a quart of oil about every 60 miles or so before i switched to royal purple. Aftter the switch hasnt hardly used a drop.... welp i checked the compression and they say 150 minimum.... best i could get one the front cylinder was 135 and on the rear128ish..guess it is time to rebuild her...my wife aint happy she has to ride with me end of the month down hatfields.... | |

| hate to hear that but gives me confidence in royal purple. I always wondered if it was good stuff.
If it isnt burning oil, do you have to rebuild it? Will it be ok even though its below 150? |

| Well i thought about pushing my luck but was told that if cylinder is scored it needs replaced and thats another 400 bucks...as of right now piston rings gaskets new oil and filter plus labor is only $410....not to bad...i can live with that...pistons are 90 a piece with new rings and all..the rings alone are 33 bucks per piston but i figured it will be apart got 4100 miles and was using junk polaris oil..spend a few extra bucks and hopefully save a few later...i was running 10w-40 royal purple..started using stock oil at 1600 miles. Switched to royal purple and could get 500-600 miles and it barely dropped on the stick at all.... | |

| I know it might be a little excessive but i do change my oil every few hundred miles....the polaris recommended schedule just seems to long for me...i just think in the case of my 800 i started caring too late...i was going to sell it when i bought my xp and still would consider for the right offer but my wife said keep it...i said fine it is yours you can drive it down hatfields and she claims the xp as hers...lol funny how marriage works.. | |

I have top and bottom cylinder gaskets. Where do you me to send them? How much do you want for them I have them. Do you want them? I didn't price them because you're a forum member and you'll pay me back. That's how it works. | |
