| First is there a difference between the 800 and 800R or are they the same? Secondly, I have a local dealer that has an 800 for $10,409 and the 1000 for 11,109. That include everything but the sales tax. Good dea Or not and which would you buy. Is there a big enough difference between the 800 and 1000 to spend the extra $700. | |

| Spend the $700 on the 1000. It's worth it for resale. Both will do great but the power is worth $700. I would not pay $2000 more but $700 is a no-brainer... | |

| Now I'm seeing they are having frame cracking issues, belt burn ups, tie rod problems. Front differential issues. Not good. | |

| Is that price for the base model Commander? Those are some pretty good numbers! I like the Commander more and more ever since tbone got rid of his. He kinda gave them a bad name!! | |

| Yes. Base model. I see some places calling it an 800 and an 800R. I think there the same. | |

| Did anyone have problems with their differentials? Is the rear one really that loud? | |

| I don't think mine is loud. I've had axle issues and over heating, but I've never met a mud hole that I won't try. The only frame issues where on early 11 models. Hope this helps. | |

| What axle issues have you had? One problem Ive seen is when you try to do any researrch on the forums you usually only hear all the bad things that each model has wether it be bushings, low power, differentials, it makes it hard sometimes to try and pick one. That seems to be a good price for these two so its real tempting. | |

| I've broke several, but I'm running 29.5 terminators and Im not easy on it. I love mine hauls ass down the road and can still haul ass in the bed. Very comfortable, I'm 6'5" tall so it was the easiest to get in and out of. I'd buy another one today. I don't care what forum you go on its always the bad points that get brought up. | |

| Keep in mind.... Most things you read on forums only highlight the negative. Not many folks make their way to the computer to post about how much they love their machines or how good of a time they had riding today. Same holds true for truck forums and cell phone forums. Currently there are no issues you need to worry about. I've got a 2012 1000 limited and my buddy just bought a 2013 XT. We just got back from 116 miles of great riding in West Virginia. I've got 1,500 miles on mine now. No problems and the original belt. Believe me when I say there's not another SXS out there that I would rather have.

| Its an 800R engine. Can-am last offered the 800 engine in 2008 or so. In an ATV the older 800 would spank the newer 800R. The 800R is rated at more hp but the 800 had an amazing bottom end. They tamed the throttle response when going to the R version but gave it more top-end. | |

| If all goes well with th trade in of my Rhino, I'll be a new commander 1000 owner in a couple of days. Put a deposit on one today. Originally they were asking $10,699 for a 2012 but they sold out. The guy told me he would sell me a 2013 at the same price. It's a base model but still worth it. IMO. | |

| I strongly considered one before I got my rhino, but Tbone kinda killed my mood on it. The new commanders all have the new QE front diff, so you won't have the regular old crisco-lok front like Tbones Maverick. | |

| It will definitely be a different feel. The 4wd acts differently, the dry clutch sounds different. The rotax is a beast, the best part of a can am. The ride will be softer. Congrats on a new ride! | |

| Hope not. I still like all the people over there and still support James when I can. I still got a lot of the experience from wrenching on my old 450 that I can share. | |
